The BEST bock EVER! This has the best aroma of any beer I’ve ever had. Such a sweet, sweet smell. Rich, malty/caramel flavor. The nectar of the Gods! brewbear (48) - 3096 Oberbalm, SWITZERLAND - APR 7, 2003
Best before 2000, drank it 2003, did never think that heineken would brew such a fine beer, don't drink it fresh, let it age!! Mklein818 (172) - Etterbeek, Virginia, BELGIUM - APR 1, 2005
As good of a beer as a megabrewery has ever produced. There’s a real depth to this beer--deep color, deep wheat maltiness, and a decent but not overpowering hoppiness. A solid performer. Zoob (85) - Bakersfield, California, USA - NOV 18, 2005
Aroma= Roasted malts and hints of coffee, some earthiness from hops
Appearance= Strong rocky head and brilliantly clear brown with orange hues
Flavor= Nice and malty, leaning toward a balance between prune and chocolate. Finishes with some carmel sweetness and just a touch of late bitterness, if anything faint sweetness lingers but not cloying
Palate= Great among the best I have had, smooth and silky a nice vollbier (full body)
Overall= I think this is a great bock! It has wonderful flavors that are nicly balanced and expose themselves throughout the tasting. It falls and finishes on the sweet side, which I deem to style, rather than suggestions that the hops are missing. I beg to differ, there is an earthiness and a ever so slight brief hop finish after the carmel. If the hops were not present this would be candy. Sample bottle from Holland and shipped to Canada, traveled well. Hoser (387) - Cowtown, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 24, 2007
Had this at the Nederlands Biercafe ‘t Arendsnest in Amsterdam and I had a aged version of this would have never guessed this was a weizenbock it seemed more dopplebock in style but excellent considering I had a la Trappe bock right after. A nice Dutch wheat bock. Smooth, a little spicy and some sweet and bitter tones here and there. gripweed57 (2463) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - MAY 3, 2017
From old tasting notes. Deep reddish brown color. Huge rocky beige head. Soft malty aroma lacks intensity. Sweet roasted malt flavor is reminiscent of a German Doppelbock. Rich and malty with an obvious alcohol presence. Very good and interesting. Ungstrup (37638) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - DEC 10, 2002
An amber beer with a little head. It has a slightly sour aroma. The flavor is soft of a good malt blend and slightly prickling- I cannot taste the wheat which it should be brewed on. A very good beer - I definatly want to try this again.
