Iets te zoet bokbier. Smaak is vol met duidelijk tarwe.Al met al niet verkeerd.

Dark, ruby red brown ale from Heineken. Not a million miles away from the Oud Bruin variety, just slightly less sweet and with a much stronger bite, which is confirmed in the 6.5% ABV. This is the perfect brew for winter; although it is not overly fruity it does make up for that with its warming malts. Tarwebok is definitely a much more balanced and mature take on the style, but I’m not sure if there is a part of me longing for another bottle of Oud Bruin instead, with all its sugary goodness! (Yes, it's more sugary than this haha)

From bottle. Pours dark brown with beige head. Very sweet malty aroma and taste. Only the slight but persistent alcoholic note differentiates it from a soft drink. For a Bock, this one ranges too far on the sweet side.

Bottle @ home. Looks dark brown with a very small off white head. Smells malty and quite sweet. The taste is mostly sweet and doesn't really develop. Overall, quite a boring beer but not horrible.

Dark brown ruby pour with mediocre head. Mild malty and caramel aroma. Similar taste but pretty damn sweet. Also some roasted flavors here. Medium to full body and soft to medium carbonation. Not all bad, just very sweet.

Positief verrast met de 2017 editie. Mooi donkere robijn kleur. 7-4-7-3-15

Bottle in Amsterdam. Dark caramel with a thin head. Aroma of sweet bock malt. Flavour is malty alcohol, sweet bock, dark fruit, middle of the road style German double bock, not bad.

Not a big fan of this beer. Tried for the first time in Utrecht in 2007 (first time I ever drank beer at a film, actually) and it more or less ruined the style for me. Cloyingly sweet, lots of malty caramelly character.

Toch een bokbier dat ik regelmatig gedronken heb. Beetje zoet, maar dat vond ik wel aangenaam. Mooie donkere kleur, goed schuim.

330ml bottle from an import shop in Xiamen. Pours dark reddish brown with a thin white head. Aroma of malt and toffee, slightly metallic. Sweet caramel taste. Sweet finish.
