draught at emmas grill in burlington. not skunked for a change, though very pedestrian, almost watery, and nothing remarkable. Spartanyogi (4) - Louisiana, USA - OCT 17, 2005 does not count
I like it, but it is expensive for the value. I probably just drink it cause it makes me look cooler since it’s imported. I hate college. Daredevil (76) - Bern, SWITZERLAND - OCT 15, 2005
Frank Booth: What kind of beer you drink, neighbor?
Jeffrey Beaumont: Heineken
Frank Booth: Heineken? Fuck that shit! Pabst Blue Ribbon!

... not sure Pabst Blue Ribbon is the better choice .... but Heineken Lager would not be the beer for the desert island either ... another brew made big by advertisment millions rather than taste ... anyway, this one is clean, has a nice bitterness and as a flaw just some sour notes in the palate ...
the bottle I had was of course not the original one, but brewed under license in Switzerland ... DrBayern (1139) - Morehead City, North Carolina, USA - OCT 10, 2005
What can I say? Clean tasting, but not much noteworthy. A tad better than some of its Amercian counterparts, as there is a little hop influence to be found. Any port in storm, as they say. Dopplebock1538 (71) - Sanatoga, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 9, 2005
Very average. But better then any domestic. Clear clean brew. Won’t break the bank or your indies.

A decent pale lager. Yellow colour with a rather small white head. Slightly malty taste and aroma, but not much of it. Wonder why so many people all over the world drinks it .. its not that cheap and not that good. davidoc (113) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 6, 2005
Bottle, generally tastes sort of mutedly tart. Slightly better than most macros, but not worth the upcharge. radagast83 (8137) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - OCT 5, 2005
Bottle. Not too bad, but nothing overly special. A little skunky, but better than many of the more common beers out there. stouby (4674) - Holbæk, DENMARK - OCT 4, 2005
Can, at home.
Light with white head. Aroma light malty and hoppy. Flavor moderate sweet, light bitter. Light body, watery, lively carbonated. Foxbush (2040) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - SEP 30, 2005
At one time this was the US leading import. It has a gassy taste and straw color. The head was frothy white. It has some hops and math flavors. It has more body some of the US bulk beers. Not worthy of further examination.
