I drank it last night, and I’ll probably drink it again tonight. Why? Because it’s that or Singha, and I’m tired of Singha. Unsurprisingly, the version of this beer found in 7 Elevens across Thailand varies radically from other versions I’ve tried. Missing is the green-bottle-induced skunk, but also gone is almost any hint of pilsner at all. It delivers a decidely sweeter swill than it’s emerald siblings, but not to the extreme of its domestic rivals. The changes are enough that I am disappointed when I drink the beer trying to be reminded of Vegas vacations past, but when I compare it to other Thai offerings, the beer often comes through.

Come on. You know what you’re getting when you open one of these: you don’t expect a micro imperial IPA that blows your socks off, or that creamy double stout that tastes like boozy mocha. No, you drink this because your brother had you over for dinner, this beer was in the fridge, and crisp lager goes well with curry. The mouthfeel is actually well balanced for the light malts and Saazy pils-near-skunk. I’ll drink this again, and you know that you will too. Death, taxes, and pale lager.

Another marketing major has set this up to appear better than it is! Stiff after-taste followed by a nasty bitter flavor!!! All in a funky GREEN can...Ouch....

UPDATED: JAN 28, 2008 This beer seems to always be skunky. Good thing that have a good advertising group...they aren’t gettin’ by on taste.

average, run of the mill...not horrible, but not the best i’ve ever had.. I’ll take this over the coors light budlight anyday of the week.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2012 Canned. Pale golden with small white head. Bitter aroma. Pretty waterish beer with hoppy bitter taste. Bitter aftertaste which smoothens out in a soft way. Pretty standard "boring beer". 2 2 4 2 7

Canned (re-rated during the 10th anniversary of 2Pac on RateBeer). Yellowish golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is grassy and bitter floral hoppyness along with some mild bready and herbal notes. Flavour is quite similar. Watery palate. 3 2 4 2 6.

Average import. Clean taste, not a bad beer to drink on occasion. Aroma is that of your typical European lager. Taste has no shocking aftertaste and is a bit predictable, however not bad overall.

One of those "I can’t believe I haven’t rated" beers. Had one 2 days ago at a French restaurant and a popular choice when at The Keg. Not a great beer but better than average for the style. Clean flavour, no diesel flavour at the end or when warm and some hop flavour.

might be a better beer if they took the time and energy to ensure that every beer they turn out doesn’t get skunked. I was very disappointed in this one.
