Not that bad, but they keep buying up other breweries all over the world and homogenizing them until they’re all the same.

Just a very avarage lager really, nothing special. There are better Dutch lagers out there.

Poured golden/yellow with a thick white head. The smell was grainy and grassy. The taste started sharp and clean with a slight metallic flavor. Light barley is prevelent throught. It finished smooth, not too bitter, more like oak. Tried this from the keg can, hence the metalic taste. Nothing special here, just another mass produced beer.

Heineken is the first beer I ever had, and probably the reason I didn’t start to drink beer until I was 24. It’s skunked by design, and there’s simply nothing to it.

Different than most domestic lagers, but still pretty boring. A little bit of hop taste sets it apart, as does a distinctively sweet and sour flavor. Drinkable, but hardly worth talking about.

UPDATED: JUN 14, 2007 Not very interesting. There’s something very toned-down about this beer tastes. It has become the de-facto "standard european import", and it lives up to this status, but barely. To its credit, you do taste the hops, although they’re not much. Perfectly drinkable but lacks complexity. There is a hint of macro-sourness towards the end. One thing that disturbs me about this beer is that I think it tastes considerably worse on-tap than in a bottle. On tap the beer tastes heavier, less refreshing, and the macro-sourness hits me much worse.

I hate Heineken. There’s very few good things I can say about it. In fact, I can’t think of any at all. I’m automatically biased against green bottle beer because of it. It’s as pale as pale ale comes and the taste is god awful. Go away Heineken. Don’t ever come back. Love, Diode.

Seems to be at it’s best as bottles served on ice, or straight from the tap. As long as it’s been kept out of the light in it’s case the green bottles and skunking aren’t much of an issue. Light amber/yellow color, decent head and inoffensive flavor and palate make for a respectable import. Just don’t try to twist off the cap.

More hoppy than your usual macro lager, with European hops, but the flavor is rather clumsy and not really balanced with the malt. Fizzy with a diminishing white head. Standard lager characteristics. Light noble hop aroma. Drinkable in a pinch, but there are better import lagers around.
