Poured a nice head that diminished quickly ? the lacing was decent though. A yellow/gold color with a fair amount of CO2. Smell was yeasty and skunky and not very distinctive. Mouth feel was ok.
Not a beer with a lot of character, but it is one of the better mass produced. I have had it numerous times on tap in Europe, and I remember it tasting better. This ain?t a great beer, but it has done in a pinch. tomxcs (321) - California, USA - AUG 31, 2004
Expensive, imported macro swill. Slight hop taste, corny aroma, thin and overcarbonated. Boring, drinkable and not much better than inexpensive, domestic macro swill. IMtheOptimator (1170) - Brookfield, Connecticut, USA - AUG 28, 2004
Pours golden yellow with a thin white head that leaves a lacing on the glass. Aroma is light with some hops. Initial taste is bland and somewhat bitter. Body is thin and heavily carbonated. Finish is unbalanced but thankfully brief. GeniusGirl (221) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 25, 2004
one of those beers you accept when offered, then remember that there’s nothing very exciting about it besides its being drinkable and having a successful ad campaign MiP (15960) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - AUG 23, 2004
UPDATED: OCT 20, 2011 Can, 5%. Grainy aroma. Clear golden colour. OK stable white head. The flavour starts off sweetish. Mild bitterness. Not so bad.

Not as good as its premium status suggests. A little to arrogant for me. But not bad for a very macro brew. Jine (903) - Nutley, New Jersey, USA - AUG 17, 2004
A fair beer. Apparently Austin Powers likes this....I hate Austin Powers and mildly dislike Heineken. Too metally and "macro"-y, like a Dutch Budweiser dirkules (629) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 17, 2004
A Lager that thinks it’s a metallic cider and priced about the same. How novel! biznizness (1128) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - AUG 14, 2004
When I was in Amsterdam, I drank this stuff like water. I don’t know why, it just seemed to taste better over there. It was probably just because Amsterdam was awesome and I associate the beer with it. Not my favorite, a step up from the Buds, Millers, ect., but IMO too expensive for what you get. lytzenhoff (27) - Fuen, DENMARK - AUG 14, 2004
Heineken is just not interesting at all.
Of course it goes down (as we say in Denmark), but that’s just not enough.
(too) Easy to drink. The pure hoppy taste is ok.
