Better than most beers it shares the shelf w/, but barely. Light lager, with short lasting head. Not too different from Bud. This can't be what Hollands known for.

I first started drinking beer on a trip to Europe. I tried this stuff because I thought it was top European beer. So little did I know. Smells of a skunk and has the flavor to match.

When I first tried this beer, I loved it, then I discovered Becks, but it still has a certain nostalgic value to me.

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2006 Becks is better and Warsteiner blows this away. Its an ok beer, but not worth all the hype. Does anyone smell a skunk???

Ok second green monster from The Netherlands,,this time I splashed out on the 24 oz bottle. The beer pours a rather dull lackluster yellowish..nice head ..pure white..that goes fast. The aroma was not too good I can smell some hops but the overall impression is of boiled cabbage for some reason. Taste is much more watery than Grolsch..its sweetat the beginning and just trails off at the end non of the nice smooth bitterness I got in Grolsch. Average as can be on the tongue..It is a clean beer. Not too drinkable..but its not horrid. EDIT REVIEW: after having tasted this beer in a can..much better.

Bottle: From all mass market beers this one is slightly above average and probably the best youll find in most restaurants.

A good lager that finishes cleaner than many. Has a huge price tag on it though...

Very ordinary beer. The succes is based on good marketing. Drinkable, but so insipid...

like, i've heard so many cooool things about this dee-vine beer, i just had to give it a try. i mean, i usually like a lite sauvignon blanc; and, well, beer in general just has too many carbohydrates, don't you think? but it's bright green bottle is SO chipper and happy and inviting, as lush as little spring peas! not like those grumpy old brown bottles like all the other expensive beers have. and it's from holland where they have all those darling windmills and wooden shoes, right? heineken! it's like heidi and munchkin rolled into one! too cute! who can resist something so exotic and rich and extravagant? i mean, six-fifty a six pack! are you seeeerious?!, that's a-LOT for beer, helloo?!? so, what ELSE must i say for your silly "rating"? let's see... aroma? oh, i don't know, i'm not going to be seen sniffing everything like i'm a pack animal, it smells fine, leave it at that. appearance? mercy, i already said it was beautiful green. flavor? okay, let's see, it's sparkly and not very sweet, like coke or a blush wine is-- and it makes me burp like a drunken sailor for pete's sake. and, well, gross out a little bit: it's like uncooked spagetti and frosted flakes! aftertaste is like i've been licking stamps all afternoon. you know, i'm not sure i really like these fancy beers. maybe i'm not cut out for beer or your serious beer website which is (yawn) just about beers and not webcams or current events or pretty pictures. please, don't get up. i'll find my own way out.

Pour pale yellow. Very skunky aroma. Slight sweet start with very little bitternes. A small but unpleasant aftertaste. A watered down subpar lager.
