petewhitley (568) - Nagoya, JAPAN - JUL 28, 2017
chocolate, caramel, roasty, black, light sweetness, medium bitterness, thin feel. Dark chocolate, and some cherries in the nose. Sharply sweet, dropping into a quick bitter finish. Some metallic afternotes, but otherwise a very drinkable Porter due to it’s lightness.

Can in Naha, Okinawa. Dark color, but not quite opaque. Dense beige head with good retention. Aroma’s: fruity, raisin, light sour. Retronasal it’s droppig, sweetish, fruity. Flavor is a bit droppy, roasty, light sweet and light fruity sour. Light bodied. Finish is roasty, light drop, slightly dry and lightly bitter. OK

Can sample at a tasting at Na’ama’s place. Thanks Na’ama. Dark brown. Aroma of chocolate, toast, caramel, a bit of nuts, a bit of licorice. Sweet flavor with toast, mild roast, chocolate, caramel, a bit of nuts. Medium-bodied.

Can from Daiei. Drank on the train home. A little roasted malt and light chocolate. Yeast is the first flavor that stands out. Too much yeast. Some raisin as it warms up. Mellows out a little s it warms. Body is ok....maybe s little too thin. Interesting slight sourness on the finish though.

This is pretty ass hat. Roasty bitterness over a watery body with some metallic bite. Kind of has a gluggly feel. Tokyo Black slays this.

3.3
maekchu (3953) - Hirakata, JAPAN - APR 30, 2014
Can from Yawata Super Izumiya. Strong yeasty nose with some good milk chocolate. Very dark brown. Mild-flavored but thick chocolate / solid bittering comes on rising carbonation / finish is powder-like and then slightly creamy. Medium body. Tasty. Light flavors. Yeast is a bit too much. Gets better as it warms up a little.
