4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The contents of the bottle ‘sploded upon unleashing and left copious quantities of particulate matter swirling erratically…
Appearance is a honey color, hazy, with plenty of bits. Noticeably carbonated with a fine white head that leaves a nice layer. Aroma is sweet and fruity, bubblegum with tartness and a yeasty, earthy background. Flavor has a sweet start, with malt and spices and a crisp light hop finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and creamy with a good representation of co2. A complex brew, but hard to pin down; well balanced and smooth. A pleasant drink.
Bottles from Carrefour Supermarket, Brussels, Belgium and De Bierkoning, Paleisstraat 125,1012 RK Amsterdam, Netherlands. Cloudy amber coloured with a large white foamy head. It has a warming spiced fruity flavour followed by toffee and sweet spiced fruit on the smooth warming finish. A good beer with a great bottle label. Hopverdju (1645) - BELGIUM - AUG 9, 2017
Amberkleurig bier met crèmekleurige schuimkraag. Geur: mout, licht kruidig, licht hoppig. Smaak: licht zoet, bastaardsuiker, ietwat fruitig, honing. Medium koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: licht zoet en wat sinaasappel. mauritsio (1014) - FINLAND - AUG 2, 2017
Bottle from Carrefour Brugge. Some hazy brown with medium head. Yeasty, nutty, quite round bitterness. jice (387) - Grenoble, FRANCE - MAY 6, 2017
Beau col de mousse, mais s’estompe très vite. Sucre et alcool dominent avec quelques arômes fruités. Belle étiquette. BlackHaddock (7960) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 18, 2017
33cl bottle:BBD 19 May 18. Poured into a Westmalle chalice at home on 18 Mar 17. Thought I didn’t let any sediment out, but the glass held a misty golden brew with a few ’floaters’ within: the head was wispy affair and very thin/weak. Peach and sweet orange esters in the nose, semi-sweet fruitiness in the taste. Some spiciness in the flavourings also: different and almost interesting, a little too sweet for it’s own good though. Like a thin, sweet, alcoholic marmalade.

Bottle shared. Slight hazy golden with big white head. Peach, alcohol, sweet malts, light herbs, dry grassy going into an almost metallic finish. Over medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium bodied with a bit fizzy carbonation. TheJvd (1343) - NETHERLANDS - SEP 20, 2016
Pours hazy dark golden with a medium white head. Aroma is yeasty with some fruitiness and oranges. Taste has some oranges, spices, yeast and a medium bitter finish. Medium body and carbo. Tjeerd (664) - GERMANY - SEP 14, 2016

Bouteille 33 cl - couleur blonde avec une belle mousse blanche onctueuse qui persiste, goût épicé et fruité, vraiment agréable à boire Mathead (11) - North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUL 21, 2016
Beer pours hazy amber with a head which almost immediately disappears. Very sweet taste of liquorice, orange peel, sugar and hops. Feels quite unbalanced.
On a sidenote: very bad label design which suggested it might be a Kriek due to the red cauldron’s cherry-like appearance.
