Tap @ Hellmuth, Wiesen. Pours Amber Brown with a small creamy head. Buttery nose and flavor. Sooothing and undrinkable. The 3 Hellmuth beers were all unclean on my visit July - 17. Fisler (542) - Bamberg, GERMANY - OCT 2, 2016
Malzig, crispy, leicht süffig-süß. Hohe Drinkability, kernig, cremiger Abgang. Bekömmlich. KimJohansen (10492) - Frederiksberg C, DENMARK - AUG 17, 2016
Clear amber with a medium off white head. Aroma had caramel and toasted malt. Flavor had toasted malt, caramel and toffee hints. finished rather dry and roasted for the style. one of the better märzens around. downender (8658) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 26, 2014
At the Bad Staffelstein bierfest, 15 August 2014. Copper coloured, with a decent, off-white, head. Sweet, with plenty of caramel and some berry fruits, before a decent, bitter finish. Good. 3fourths (9345) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 12, 2014
Draft at the brewery in Wiesen. Cloudy, rich red-brown colored body with a creamy off-white head.

Malt aroma shows notes of bread, caramelized sugar, apple, sweet toffee. Quiet hops show light spiciness. Medium-full body, sweet, syrupy, chewy in the mouth. Not much depth, and the malt character and flavor balance doesn’t align much with my tastes.
On tap at the Brewpub. Orangebraunes Bier mit ordentlicher beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht röstmalzig, Karamell. Geschmack nach Karamell, schokoladig, leicht würzig. pivnizub (10614) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAY 1, 2012
On draught at the brewpub (the landlady called it "Dunkel"): Deep golden, unclear, visible carbonation, small beaten-egg-white-like foamy layer, sweetish-caramelly nose with a slight barnyardy touch and mild hoppy traces; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, not "ungespundet"; slightly lingering bitter-malty finish. Decent franconian brew... TBone (17528) - Pori, FINLAND - NOV 6, 2005
Bottled, alc. 4.9%bierkoning (13352) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - JUN 9, 2003
Ruby red color, big creamy tanned head, lace. Wheat bread sweetness in the nose. Medium-bodied, malty. Sweetish, ashy, short finish, quite refreshing. Not very typical dunkel (only outlook).
Tapbeer only in this tiny brewpub. Orange colored, just a bit hazy, the beer is not filtered. Hardly any head, malty flavor with a bit of a barnyard smell. Just a bit soapy. Full bodied with a fine hopbitter aftertaste. A treat on a hot humid day.
