"more flavor and less boring than other HWs...notice, though, i said "less boring" and not good, or anything like that. not bad for a fruit beer. tart, aromatic and refreshing, but simple and a little dull." dr_sarcastor (66) - - JUN 25, 2013
The best flavored wheat I have ever drank, sadly it is no longer in existence.

1 from a 6-pack purchased on 08/01/1997 from a liqour store in Couer d’alene, Idaho. Tasting scribble notes as follows: Light mouth feel, lots of sugar-coated berries, dark gold look, light finish. philbertk (1873) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 19, 2010
My tasting notes were a bit shallow in my youth....
Henry Weinhard’s, Blitz-Weinhard Company--Blackberry Wheat Ale--2001 12 oz. Bottle. 5.00% ABV? (4.0 / 5.0) Blackberry opening. Big CO2 head. Medium lace. Clear bright golden berry color. Blackberry floral hop front. Smooth creamy malty wheat spice body with thin blackberry flavor. Mellow clean citrus spice end. Sampled 11/22/2001. troopie (2453) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - JUL 19, 2009
Bottle that Hennie had in his cellar. Aroma of day old bread. Poured yellow with medium white head that dissipated rapidly. Flavour was mostly blackberry, with a bit of wheat. Almost no finish. Glad they don’t make this any more.

Pale yellow pour, big fluffy white head and zero lacing. Aroma is mostly wheat but with a light waft of blackberry. Ditto the flavor, though slightly more berry was present. This was one I didn’t mind drinking back when I was a poor college student and it was very cheap and better than BMC products. Angeloregon (2055) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 24, 2007
Poured a clear straw-golden hue with a small white head. Nose of stale malts, wheat, and berries. When Henry’s was legit, this was a super value. jake65 (4003) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - MAR 27, 2006
The blackberry flavor is separated from the rest of the flavors. It seemed as if they were competing against each other. I liked the idea of a blackberry for a fruit beer, but this didn’t work for HW. Nice try though... oldrtybastrd (5228) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 28, 2005
Pours a hazy golden yellow color. Aromas of wheat bread and berries. Flavor is sweet berry and a little yeasty. Flavor is to sweet for me, didn’t care for this at all. BrewDad (5667) - Olympia, Washington, USA - SEP 17, 2005
Awesome try at making a truely Northwest beer. Blackberries which is a weed here are perfect. But they just did not have any flavor to this beer. They missed the berry flavor andftoo much malt. But I love the attempt
