A light-bodied, aromatic, Irish-style specialty ale. Double-hopped with PAcific Northwest Cascade hops for the flavor and smoothness of a traditional ale without bitterness of heaviness.

This has always been my go to beer. As far as a cheap, light beer goes, this will always be in my fridge.

This is by far the best macro beer available.

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2007 my new favorite as far as green bottles go. but the beer itself was nice. i haven’t really tried any irish beer at all, so can’t compare it to this "style". but you guys should really give this beer an honest taste. update: amazing!

cant believe the negative commentary here - the blue boar is one of my all time favs. love the skunky smell - drinks smooth - been a henrys fan for 20 years. overall an awesome beer

This rating is a historical assessment of what the Blue Boar Ale was. It is still a fresh, crisp, lightly maltly and hoppy ale but overall its fame suffers from the original brewery (Weinhardts, Portland, OR) no longer making it. It tastes like a real good, large brewery, retail beer should taste. Because it comes from my end of the world (N.W. USA) I have a fondness for it. Nothing goes down better than a ice cold HW Blue Boar Ale on a hot summer day. Who gives a hoot what color the bottle is... keep it cold and drink it empty!

I found this beer to be a very good drinker. I enjoy kicking back and putting a few of these bad boys down. It is not a thick rich ale , it is thin but delivers a good taste and solid finish

good all-around rating on this one, from it’s nice labeling to it’s smooth finish, and not as price gouging as others in this class

Pours a clear golden color with a bubbly white head that dissipated quickly. The aroma is sweet malts, sugar, white bread, and some mild hops. The taste is lightly toasted barley, white bread, cereal, and mild hops to help balance. The mouthfeel is light and the drinkability is super high. I really enjoyed this beer.

A good pale ale, not the mainstream pales, but top notch. I’m not a pale ale fan so I rated it a bit lower than It merits, but need to be truthful. Nice malt nose, fair hop presence, clean and fresh, a great summertime beer for the masses instead of the normal swill!
