RATINGS: 75   WEIGHTED AVG: 2.82/5   SEASONAL: Winter   EST. CALORIES: 144   ABV: 4.81%
A dark lager with the color of a stout, yet none of the bitterness. Brewed from a rich blend of six malts and Cascade, Cluster and Mt. Hood hops, for a uniquely smooth taste.
Availability: October through March.

Ubiquibeer (140) - Cleveland, USA - SEP 10, 2004
A refreshing dark (and I use that term loosely for this beer) beer, albeit a little thin and not much roastiness. This is one of my cheap beers of choice. Ice cold it is drinkable.

Slighty roasted flavor. carmel malt. Watery and uneventful. My only complaint is that I can’t find weinhard’s porter anymore. I think as far as weinhard’s got that was the best.

Dark red/caramel color. Fair, bubbly head that fades rapidly. Aroma of wheat bread dough and dark corn syrup is not unpleasant, kind of expected. Taste is bland, brown sugar and toast. The body does not back up the aroma; this stuff is quite wet and thin. I've had worse, I guess. At least it is cheap. I got a six pack for $3.50 (2001), it gets style points for that and the cool shaped bottle.

I can't believe i have more of these to drink after this one.Dark red in color, uneventful head that tried and failed to stay around.Malty caramel aroma with maybe a faint appearance of hops, and kind of sweet as well. The taste is malty, caramely with just a faint hint of hops again.very thin brew with little to offer.I guess There is a time and place for every brew and this has a place some where but it just isn't now.Sorry guys try again.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2011 Ok comes in the weird shaped Henry brown 12 oz bottle, nice handsome blue and gold label. Nice enough looking beer for one so cheap..its a dark ruby colour when held to the light..small tan head that goes very quickly to be replaced by some good lacing. I actually liked the aroma of this beer very much caramel and roasted malts are very upfront . After a good show by the aroma the tatse was a little too thin..yes its pleasant but it isnt very "upfront" yes theres caramel and chocolate flavors. Pretty average on the tongue,,flavour doesn’t last as long as i would have liked. Overall its a good cheap beer.

Basically undrinkable, not sure how it rates higher than the other Henry's. Not like they're any good, just that this is so much worse. Like water with some dark food coloring thrown in, with a hint of ass.

Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is clear dark brown. Aroma is lightly malty (caramel, roasted nuts), lightly hoppy (flowers). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Fizzy as could be, and not the cleanest flavor, but otherwise not too shabby.

Decent beer. Good for the price. My favorite cheap beer. Nice dark almost red tint.

coke color, fast fading tan head. Small bead Tinny malt taste

Brian (145) - Ontario, CANADA - NOV 5, 2002
Not bad--not overly strong, and a bit reminiscent of Heineken Dark, but having enough bite to keep it away from being lumped in with the more watery darks. Caramel taste is slightly artificial, but tolerable. Not overly carbonated either, which I like.
