Not as dark as I would choose, but a good beer nonetheless. Give this to your budmillercoors drinking friends to work them into better stuff.

This is the darkest Weinhards has? A little disappointing on the coloring, but still a pretty good brew. I’d still take a Full Sail Porter over this though...

nice balance in the malt and hop influence and the smooth finish, nice frothy head that lasted

A good dark brew. Some coffee / chocolate flavor notes from roasted malts, mild but nice hops flavors and complex notes. A very nice entry from Blitz-Weinhard. Let’s see if Miller can manage to keep their crappy influence out of the fine line of Weinhard beers now that they’ve gained control of this classic American brand.

Pretty damn dark. But good.

This dark brown offering from Weinhard’s has a sweet carmel smell that is mostly pleasant, but for the staleness that accompanies it. This beer tastes like a darker version of macro American pilseners--with it having more of a malty and caramelly sweeteness. This beer is light on the body for a dark beer and is rather one dimensional with no detectable hopping.
