12 oz. bottle. Pours a thid ivory head, with some lacing, over a clear dark amber (SRM 15) body....nose is cereal, light toffee/caramel from the malts, light herbs from the hops, no esters....taste is cereal, light toffee/caramel sweetness from the malts, hints of bitterness from the hops, no pine, resin, minimal esters, finishing with a lingering slightly astringent off taste....mouth feel light of medium, carbonation high giving a soda quality. This is a simple, boring, neither bold nor assertive beer. It needs more complexity in both the malt and hop backbones. The final off taste finishes this beer. Certainly looks like a good amber. Faint malt nose is promising. Unfortunately the taste comes off as pretty average. The malt continues to be faint throughout. A bit watery. To quote another rater: boring. jehoesefat (366) - Poway, California, USA - AUG 7, 2013
Nice malty aroma. Pours clear copper with a thin head. Lots of malt in the flavor, but not enough bitterness to offset the sweetness. puboflyons (3463) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - AUG 3, 2013
From the 12 fl. oz. bottle marked APR0113-C012009I I’m not sure if it is past is expiration date or what. I assume so. Anyway the pour is an attractive looking brass-copper color with a moderate of-white foamy head. The aroma is sweet caramel and toffee malts with very little if any hop note. The body is smooth and medium. The taste is also fairly sweet upfront with a mild balanced hop note at the end. Overall a pretty basic amber and likable enough. dlihcsnatas (763) - Temple, Texas, USA - JUL 27, 2013
Amber brew with a breadish aroma and taste mixed with some caramal malts and bit of hop bitterness that overall makes this brew pretty decent.

12 oz bottle, slightly past the 2013 best by date, served in a lager glass. Pours clear, deep amber colored, with a moderate size but exceptionally creamy head. The head has good retention and leaves some lacing on the glass. Lots of carbonation is visible.
S: caramel with some piney and earthy hop, but with a metallic tone.
T: Much better than the aroma, but too mild. Caramel malt up front fades as the earthy hops build towards the mildly hoppy and slightly bitter finish.
M: crisp; light-medium body.
O: Decent, at least after it warms up a bit. foyle (424) - Wyoming, USA - JUL 21, 2013
Appearance: 1.5” off white head recedes and leaves light lacing. Moderate carbonation bubbles stream through the mostly clear amber/copper brew.
Aroma: fairly mild – bready malts are most prominent, some caramel, and a little hop spice.
Mouthfeel: fairly light bodied and watery, with a somewhat dry finish.
Flavor: whole wheat bread, mild citrus (orange peel), caramel, and a slight saltine cracker flavor.
Overall: Not a bad beer, nothing too exciting. RobertDale (6650) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - JUL 14, 2013
12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear amber with a small biege head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and a touch of hops. Taste is caramel malt and florals. Boring. poisoneddwarf (2601) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - JUL 12, 2013
12 oz bottle. Pours clear copper with a medium off-white head with decent retention. Aroma is doughy bread, toasted marshmallow, caramel, mild fruit. Taste is malty sweet (not cloying) with a little bitterness. Carbonation is average, a little watery, light body. Boring and exactly what I was expecting. mtwhitney (168) - Maui, Hawaii, USA - JUL 11, 2013
Nothing to recommend here. Not a drain-pour, but just so average that it does not make sense to waste your time drinking it.
