Not really the greatest Wheat Ale around, but Henry Weinhard’s was never the best bargain beer around. BuckeyeBoy (8281) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JAN 25, 2011
12oz Bottle from Fred Meyer Discount cart. Pours out a golden topped with a small white head. Aroma was of wheat, grass, and light citrus notes. Taste was more of the wheat and light citrus along with some malts to round it out.

Henry Weinhard’s, Blitz-Weinhard Brewing Company, Full Sail Contract Brew--Henry Weinhard’s Summer Wheat Ale--2006 12 oz. Bottle. 4.90% ABV--15.8 IBU’s. (3.7 / 5.0) Wheat Ale--Foamy mild lace head. Clear bright light gold color. Mild coriander wheat spice front. Tangy very lemon crisp mild wheat thin malt body. Refreshing clean lemon spice end. Odd quenching mild macro wheat. Sampled 11/10/2006. MrRoss (646) - Delta, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 15, 2009
This was okay, better than a run o’ the mill swill. Pouring a four finger plus foamy white head, the colour was an attractive amber/gold. Aroma was a lil’ bit ’sharp’ for a wheat but none the less appealing for that. Taste had the typical wheat sweetness, and mouthfeel was quite nice, although the aftertaste was almost not an aftertaste. Nothing there, really.

Piss yellow pour with no head or lacing. Smells like yeast and wheat with light citrus hops and a tad bit of malt. Tastes like a Kansas wheat field with an odd spiciness that I can’t put a finger on. Not something I want again. ditmier (1508) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 9, 2009
2009 Bottle - Pours a golden yellow with a small white head...aroma is grassy, wheaty and bright, with a citrus malt nuance...is lacking that lagery skunk typical in other HW bottles, which is a nice change...flavour is gritty grains, dry citric malt...a body that you would expect from an unfiltered wheat...has a tempered fleeting hop bitterness, with a lingering earthy cereal finish...whats the problem with this one? I really enjoyed it... stchloe (1104) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 7, 2008
Sure this used to be a great brewery, but this ale is pretty bland even for a summer. cheap (6008) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 4, 2008
Thanks to riversideAK for this gem! Shorter stubby bottle with a twist off cap. Pale and almost copper orange transparent in appearance. Sweeter aroma, somewhat like hardtack candy. Orange peel immediately greets the tongue on the first sip. Not overly sweet. Every sip has that orange hit. Good tingly carbonation is welcomed. Interesting fruity variation, probably should be listed as a fruit beer. Soapy at times during the finish. Not bad! Finish has a gnawing mild linger. Thanks Alex for this west coast brew, I owe you one! BlackDonald (1126) - Gulf Shores, Alabama, USA - MAY 31, 2008
Wow, carbonation, I feel like I just took a sip of citrus mouthwash. Lots of orange flavor here, a light grainy maltiness, but very soda like. Not really my thing, but found it refreshing nonetheless.
