Originally developed for British sailors stationed in India, IPAs were aggressively hopped to help prevent spoilage on long ocean voyages. Now that spoilage isn’t as big a problem, we’ve eased up on the hoppiness just a hair to let the caramel malts shine through. It’s a big beer with big flavor that really lets you appreciate hops in all their glory.

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2014 Where are the hops? It’s one thing to make an IPA with a sweet malt balance but it’s quite another to make one that willfully skimps on the hops. This is nothing more than an attempt to water down a beer for the masses. A beer that’s supposed to be hoppy by its very nature has been toned down for the average consumer. This is an "IPA" without any balls.

A bit of hops in the nose with some pine. Rubber band bitter with an astringent taste. Dry with a short finish.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2013 Bottle. Light orange pour with a white head. Pale caramel malt and stale hops on the nose. Lighter palate that is somewhat crisp. Pretty much a letdown.

12 ounce bottle scored from a cooler at a party, not too shabby, hint of floral hops with some citrus in the finish, not really much of an IPA but very quaffable beer

Bottle into shaker. Slightly cloudy amber with small off-white head. Aroma has some hops, lightly floral, honey, candy. Malty and a tiny bit spicy up front and then a total letdown for the finish. Bland. I should have known when I discovered it was a twist off...

A very decent beer at a decent price that falls short of being an IPA. It tastes very light, with only a hint of floral hops. However it is easy to throw a few down the gullet and for the price what do you expect? A very insipid IPA, I felt like I was drinking a pilsner.

Flaska köpt på Hawaii. Gåva från vän. Bärnstensfärgad vätska med lågt skum. Dofter av ananas, citrus och lite halm. Svag beska. Halvtorr munkänsla. Kort eftersmak.

UPDATED: APR 20, 2014 12 oz Bottle. The beer pours to a alight amber/orange color with a small white head. The aroma has caramel, resin, a little earthy. Thge taste is light in body with a malt forward front end flavor & virtually no hop bitterness on the finish. I wouldn’t really call this an IPA for my taste, more of a lager to me. Overall not one i would buy again.

pours a golden copper color with a small white head. the aroma is very nice you can pick up the cascade hops. the taste is very good, you can pick up the hops but it is very well balanced and you can pick up some sweetness of the malt as well. this would be the perfect ipa for being just getting into craft beer because it is not too overpowering.

bottle. Poured clear medium amber with an average beige head. Grassy hop aroma. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel with a tart dry finish. Earthy hop flavour, grapefruit citrus notes with a bit of roasted malt. A nice balanced beer, not overly dry.
