Bottle: Pours a golden color with a light white head. The nose is earthy with some light citrusy hops and a light pale malt note. The flavor is medium bodied, middle-of-the-road hops in the flavor. Fairly low key as far as west coast IPAs go. HoppyGuy (111) - Washington, USA - JUN 8, 2008
Bottle. Pours a deep gold color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is predominately of pine and hops, but a little hay and citrus is there too. The flavor, while fairly smooth, lacks just a bit of character. The finish is fairly good, with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Don’t misunderstand--this is not a bad beer! It just has a lot of competition in the IPA market, so I’m being critical. I’d like to pair this brew with some fresh seafood and a mixed green salad. ndubs360 (114) - portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 2, 2008
Aroma of hops, cirrus, grass, and chemicals. pours a golden beautifulness. the flavor is lacking the most, tastes more like a pale ale. overall, i believe that this is the best of the weinhards line. BlackDonald (1126) - Gulf Shores, Alabama, USA - MAY 31, 2008
This is not an overpowering IPA, very sublte flavors, just barely a step up from an APA. Light caramel maltiness, with thin citrus hoppiness, and quite clean, but never aggressive or exciting on the palate in the slightest. hombrepalo (1971) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 20, 2008
12oz freebee from riversideAK, thanks! Poured a golden amber color with fluffy head. Lots of lace on this IPA. Malty aroma with some hints of spices and pines. Tangy dirty taste at first then a malty caramel/toffe body. Not a bad beer.

light hop aroma, citrus, clean. clear amber with fruity white head that lingers. watery in the moth. flavor more resiny with a little orange, but soon fades into the watery. hints of caramel, but overall thin. not overpowering but clean and well balanced. Bottle purchases at Belmont Station in Portland, OR--Clear orange-copper body with a thin yet frothy white head. Nutty, bready fruity nose. Sharp, tangy mouthfeel. Floral, creamy, bitter, oily, slightly cloying flavor. Surprisingly delicious beer. Lizardking3 (192) - Springfield, Oregon, USA - MAY 7, 2008
UPDATED: MAY 25, 2014 Pours a copper/amber color, with little to no head. Carbonation is distinct from first glance. Goes down fairly smooth, hoppy flavor is apparent but not near a strong level. There is a hint of caramel malt, could have actually been a little bit more malt flavor as the Northwest hops in this beer tend to taste a little skunky and more malt might have balanced that a little better. Very thin, but a good value because of the extremely low price. Average. hopdog (12510) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 5, 2008
12oz bottle acquired in trade with riversideAK. Poured a medium and clear golden color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of hay, floral hops, and earthy. Tastes were muted and consisted of citrus, caramel, and hay. Thin body. billk (353) - Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, USA - APR 25, 2008
UPDATED: MAY 4, 2008 12 oz bot. Crystal clear light copper/amber with plenty of fizzy carbonation, decent slightly off white head and lace. Fair IPA aromas but masking a definite macro background. Flavor is fair to decent American IPA up front, but followed closely
by that universal, sterile, macro, soap, and baking soda taste. Some caramel malt sweetness & adequate bittering hops but mixed with the descriptions above. Into medium bodied. Tastes like the adjunct cereal grains are in here.
Better than I thought it would be though, considering the price, and since I have a case minus 3 in dee fridge I’d better like it enough to finish it off. Doubt I’ll buy it again though.
