A new-one-to-me IPA. A buddy had a sixer of this in his fridge the other day. As a sucker for all things-IPA, I grabbed one. Poured into a pint glass.
Pours a translucent pale orange with a small white cap of foam on top. Good sticky lace on glass. Fresh hoppy aroma, some citrus notes, grass. Not sharp in any way.
Crisp, clean feel. Refreshing. This one is easy to drink. Mild hop bitterness makes this one up. This is definitely not one that’ll scald the palate. Some sweet tangerine, honeysuckle. Easy drinking. This one won’t compete with the big trendy IPAs out there, but it has its place. Sometimes all I want is a mildly bitter beer that I can have a few of, and this one fits the bill perfectly. A good ’gateway’ IPA for the curious.
12oz Flasche. Heller Bernstein mit luftigem Schaum. Aroma nach Toffee und Kräuter. Geschmack etwas flach. Caramell und Hopfen. Arayaga2 (2224) - portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 20, 2015
Just vile. It tastes like an industrial 12% eurolager without all the alcohol. The astringent gasoline-like hopping and fermentation character would make this a drain pour if I were at my own house. Should be renamed "Wood and Ass".

This is not a good beer. There’s hardly any hop, the smell is wrong, it has no palate and no finish whatsoever. Certainly it has nothing to do with pale ale. Worth the wide berth. hotstuff (5278) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - MAR 13, 2015
Rated on 9-24-2013 (Bottle) The appearance is a medium sized smooth off-white head with a lengthy retention, gold transparent body, very fizzy, very fast rising carbonation, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is caramel malt, grassy, citrus, pine hops, earthy, and biscuits. The flavor is lightly bitter, semi-sweet, caramel malt, citrus, pine hops. The mouthfeel is smooth and this beer is light bodied. A quaffable beer that is not very hoppy, bitter tasting for the style. It does not have a lot of character. CStang67 (42) - - FEB 22, 2015
AROMA: Some hops in the nose, but are a bit grassy. Caramel malt is there but not strong. There is really not much of an aroma.
APPEARANCE: Copper in color and a bit on the hazy side. Pencil thin head that disappeared quickly. Not the most impressive looking beer.
TASTE: The sweet caramel malt is balanced by a fair amount of bitterness. Hop flavor is a bit vegetable like. It’s not terrible but leaves a lot to be desired in an IPA
PALATE: Medium to medium-high body cotes the mouth. Carbonation is low leave the beer just a bit short of the crispness I like in my IPA
OVERALL: It’s OK, far behind a lot of IPA’s out there.

12 oz bottle pours gold with a white head. Taste is grassy hops with a little caramel malts. Chemical like bitterness. Very messy beer! Not good. stirburn (1) - - DEC 29, 2014 does not count
Surprising mouth feel and incredible price. An aroma my non - drinking wife even liked. Sarlacc83 (2432) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 21, 2014
Bottle.A: Burnished gold with a half inch off-white head. N : Biscuit, pine, earth, some melon and light citrus.T: Quite sweet. Sharp bitterness.M: Medium body with a spritzy carbonation and noticeable alcohol. O: Mediocre. Far too sweet. slowrunner77 (13204) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 22, 2014
British malty backbone. Clear amber orange in color, feels more like a pale than an iPa. The hops are nice, just too mellow and not enough of them in there to come out on top o the malt."

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance- The beer pours a beautiful golden amber color with a big billowy two finger off white head. The head fades over a moderate level of time leaving a nice lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The smell is largely of a bready and caramel nature mixed with some aromas of corn sweetness and a light fruit smell. While an IPA there is not a big hop presence with the aroma only having a very light citrus and pine hop smell.
Taste- The taste begins with a chewy breadiness and a lighter caramel sweetness upfront. A hop flavor of a citrus flavor is present from the start which grows stronger till the end. With the citrus growing stronger the caramel fades with some earthy and pine hop flavors later joining the taste. This combination of flavors take the taste to its end where a nicely hopped and smooth bready taste is left on the tongue.
Mouthfeel-The body of the brew is quite thick and chewy for a 6 % abv beer with a carbonation that is rather lighter. The thicker body combined with the lower carbonation make for a nice mouth coating feel and all the hop and bready flavors able to linger on the tongue.
Overall – I was quite surprised by this brew. It was nice and creamy with a rather good hoppy taste. Not a bad go to and certainly worth a try.
