(bottled 05.10.10) Cloudy, orange-amber colour with a short and off-white foamy head. Slightly yeasty, juicy malty and slightly nutty aroma with slightly vinous notes of dried fruits (apricots). Moderately sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a calm carbonation. Juicy malt character with distinctive notes of apricots, traces of caramel and a bready touch; sweet malty and slightly vinous fruity finish with a whiff of bitter hops in the background. Has some nice fruit character. 26.XII.13 pivnizub (10571) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - JAN 17, 2014
Bottle(bottled 5/10/10; purchased at Kris Wines): Orangey coloured, hazy, mid-sized off-white head with a good lace, mineralic-yeasty nose with traces of alcohol, died peaches and toasted malt; moderate to solid sweet flavour with a slight bitterness, medium to full bodied, relatively soft; lingering woody and fruity sweet-bitter finish. Pretty good, it needs obviously some time to ripe… Unclejona (9) - East Molesey, - OCT 23, 2013 does not count
This is by far one of the best ’Winter Warmer’ style beers I have had. ABV of 7.5% adds to the warming aspect of this lovely ale. The mouthfeel and rich taste dominate, the aroma is slightly lacking but that is not what this beer is all about. A real treat during the cold/dark winter months. Leighton (21085) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 17, 2013
Bottle shared at the Craft Beer Co. - Clerkenwell, London Holiday Tasting - one of my contributions. Pours lightly hazy copper-gold with a fine, off-white foam head. Semi-ripe fruit nose, sweet bread. Medium sweet flavor with more bready malts, plum and other ripe fruits. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Sweet finish, more breadiness, toasty sugars. Drinkable stuff. Good.
