Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a slightly golden to copper color with a fairly fast fading white head. No lace.
The aroma had some malt up front, some grassy hops and then light white pepper.
The flavor tried to blend the prior mentioned aromas, somewhat sweet with the spice trying to make a decent effort. Some maltiness in the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Decent carbonation. Somewhat smooth all around as the spice seems to be barely there.
Overall, was fairly good, perhaps again if I was at the brewpub. Skyview (5907) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - MAY 10, 2008
On draught at the brewpub in Wausau, Wisconsin. Pours a clear golden copper brew with a fast dissolving white head that quickly dissipates to a very thin white ring and no lacing. Aroma of dry roasted Munich malt, some cotton candy, caramel and a touch of white pepper. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of dry caramel malt, more malty than any bitterness with a touch of sweet sugar. Finish is slightly dry with a light green tea and caramel aftertaste the slowly disappears. BDR (2534) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - MAY 9, 2008
Light brown color with faint brown head. Light caramel & grain aroma. Roasted malt body with a faint caramel sweetness. Satisfying.
