Happy to see this beer pulled out of retirement. On draught at the Wausau brewpub location, pours a clear copper amber brew with a thick and creamy white head that slowly dissipates to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of caramel malt, some nice dark pitted fruit character, flowery hops and a touch of apricots. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with a fruity caramel malt flavor with flowery hops and light spice. Finish is semi-sweet and very malty compared to its aroma of taste. Not only is this a pretty solid beer, it’s one of the better viennas I’ve tried. jewedekind (450) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 5, 2004
A red lager (so I called it a Vienna style)with a forward hop spiciness (Saaz?) that travelled nicley with a malt nose and creamy mouthfeel. Reminded me of a pils with more body. Interesting beer, but was it meant to be? Very drinkable.
