This American-style ale has been one of our most popular; appealing to regional tastes for a medium-bodied beer with full ale taste and delicate hops flavor.

Sampled at the brewpub. Clear golden a white ring. I taste grain, mild pale malts, and soft hops. The feel is thin and the flavor is, too. The hops help carry this one. A bit of yeast is evident. Not bad but not my favorite here.

Since this dump (Hereford & Hops brewpub) doesnt serve Blatz, I usually consume this swill when Im at the H&H. Not great. Not bad. Just OK. Does not fill you with the "warm fuzzies" like a case of Blatz will. Believe it.

On tap at the Escanaba brewpub. Light lemon sour malt aroma. Pours a very pale lemon yellow. Rim in white. Flavor is a classic salty, grainy, lightly chewy malt backed with a bit of metallic/grassy hop flavor. Very low key, but clean, which I appreciate. This is actually a decent golden, with nice drinkability, crisp malt character and refreshing dry hop balance. Nothing really stands out but its a decent version. Finishes on a lightly sweet citrus hop bite and then closes out cleanly. Rather hoppy for the style actually and I think thats what makes it work. Fresh, bright, clean. A good blonde.

I usually HATE this style, but this one came close to me ordering a second. Hardly any aroma. Could pick up a hint of light fruit. Pour was a nice light gold with a one finger white head. Taste was sweet in the beginning. Apple and pear with a dry and light aftertaste. Nice carbonation. One of the better blonds Ive had (beer that is!)

On tap. Very light golden pour with a small head. Sweet fruity nose with a light hint of hops. It has a really light and sweet taste, much like a lot of big commercial beers. Finishes quite dry like most of the other beers at this location. It is a much better alternative for fans of American light beers.

On tap. Mild bitter lemon smell, with some beany hoppiness and a bit of pils malt. Dull golden-yellow clear with big foamy white lacing head. Medium body, soft, with light carbonation. Starts with nice maltiness, light acidity and medium hop profile. Mild fruitiness, with medium-soft bitter finish. Light sweet grain finish and soft bitter after. Done well, subdued.

On tap at the Wausau brewpub on 6/24/07: Pours a transparent bright golden with a clingy-lacing white head. Aroma of faintly sweet malt and some fairly fresh floral hops. Body is lightly grainy and pale malty sweet with some earthy bittering hoppy balance toward a crisp finish. A pretty decent blonde ale.
