Evil Cousin is Heretics take on a West coast imperial IPA. This beer is a bold, in-your-face hop monster. It has a light, easy drinking malt character that allows the hops to stand out. The hop character in this beer is intentionally on the dank side; big, sticky, and aggressive. This beer is for those of you who cant get enough hops. Join us on the dank side.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2014 Sept 2014 - A solid DIPA - easy to drink - no alcohol taste - this batch has plenty more malt than I remember, which is the first taste I get then great herbal hoppiness balances. Good ale and marked better than previous.

Pour on tap at GABF, clear orange pour with white head, aroma brought dank and weedy hops, pine, grass, slight orange in there as well, hints of grapefruit as well go into some biscuit, bready malts. Taste is a mix of pine, weed, dank, slight grapefruit and orange into biscuit, bread, finishing fairly bitter.

Pours clear golden orange with a bright whtite head that fades quickly to a nice film and leaves heavy lace. Sharp citrus aromas, mostly grapefruit, orange, and tangerine. Some pine and grassy notes as well. Flavors are similar, but with plenty of sweet malt to balance things out. Big bitterness and sweetness battle it out like a couple of heavyweights, with the sweet malt taking gold. Medium body and carbonation, oily slick and smoothe on the palate, dry and bitter finish. Notable ABV here is hidden but certainly present. A bit over the top on the bitterness and sweetness - one is certainly enough. O: Big, complex, balanced, and powerful. A nice tribute to a classic.

Bomber thanks to wife's trip to Cali. Thick fluffy white head sits atop the perfect pint glass. Huge aroma of flowers and pineapple. Nice malty flavor upfront. All thick, drippy resiny hops on the back end. Not much that lingers and expected a bit more with the finish. Good example of a DIPA! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Grapefruit juice aroma. Sweet citrus flavor, honey, grape, hops, mint, bitter finish. A bit too classic but still a nice fruity IPA.

Deep golden color. Pineapples, apples and apricots in the nose. Full bodied, medium sweet, apricot, pineapples and strawberries. Decent bitterness. Decent IIpa but doesnt do anything so special for me.

Only tap at DBS. Poured a dark yellow color with a decent sized head. Smells of earthy hop. Nice balance of hop and malt on this one. Great balance on the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap @ The BeerMongers... Poured vibrant golden/yellow with a thick, frothy, retaining white head. Nose had pungent, earthy, resinous danky notes. Those came through to the flavor with an added bready balance. Sort of drying towards the finish along with a big earthy, vegetal, onion-like hopped spice notes. Quite nice.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2013 8%nice floral herbal aroma . Orange gold color. The taste is great a punch of bitterness followed by floral hop notes. It didnt strike me as terribly complex but as you drink it you keep noticing different flavors with every other sip: grapefruit, lemon, pine, dank, etc. an impressive multi-layered IPA. Part of the 1000 at AQ Bevolutions Event at Kamikaze. At Kamikaze I am getting much more dankness in the aroma, resin & weed... The taste is still great biscuity malts with a bitter weedness to it. Again displaying the difference in glassware from a lager glass to a chalice.
