Evil Cousin is Heretics take on a West coast imperial IPA. This beer is a bold, in-your-face hop monster. It has a light, easy drinking malt character that allows the hops to stand out. The hop character in this beer is intentionally on the dank side; big, sticky, and aggressive. This beer is for those of you who cant get enough hops. Join us on the dank side.

In short: A under-malted and over-hopped abrasive piney and grassy golden IPA. Hard to drink
How: Bottle 22oz, consumed relatively fresh a few weeks after receiving it from oakbluff, thanks a lot Scott
The look: Clear golden body topped by medium off-white head quickly dissipating to a small persistent layer of foam
In long: Nose is rather piney but also with plenty of dry grass with a spicy twist. Taste has elusive malts, light body, residual sugars without backbone. Balance is obviously not the goal here. Hop profile was like a hefty dose of chinook-like high alpha acid sandy piney hops with also a whole lot of Saaz-like dry grassy hope with a spicy edge. Im almost certain no Saaz went into this American IPA but thats what it tasted like. There was also a soapy edge I could have done without. Very looooonnnnnggggg after-taste. This beer didnt work for me, abrasive, not refreshing, hard to drink despite the light body, couldnt take big sips without making faces. I was very much disappointed by this one, and it is the all those disappointments caused by all the boring beers I buy that drove me into drinking, and that makes perfect sense to me.

Tap. Pours clear golden. Aroma is tropical fruits and not much else. Body is medium to heavy, low carbonation, sweet and rather fruity, killing the bitterness. Sweet palate too. Quite okay, nothing you would miss though.

Tap at Hair of the Dog, Phloen Chit; Bangkok. Poured a hazy light amber with a thin broken white head and a little broken lace. The aroma is yeast, grassy hop citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter with a crisp, fresh, fruity, light alcohol, light peppermint palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Canned, pours a clear golden beer with a white head. Lots of aromas going on contains citrusy, piney, orange peel, grapefruit. Really well-balanced beer in term of flavor, nice bitterness on the back end. 8% ABV is well hidden One of the easiest to drink DIPA

Sacramento can drank in Yuba City; scenic Yuba City overlooking the Sunsweet Prune production facility. Dank, skunky hops in the aroma. Big flavor with sweeter malt at first but then a sharp hop bite and lingering bitterness. Pretty nice and the IBU is not overpowering.
