COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This blood-red ale may not be what you might expect from a malty and hoppy craft beer. Evil Twin has a rich malt character, without being overly sweet. It has a huge hop character, without being overly bitter. It is a great example of a bold, rich, balanced craft beer, without being heavy and hard to drink in quantity. Our Evil Twin is only bad because it is too good to resist.

22oz bomber, no date for $5.99 at Olive Tree Marketplace. Clear brownish red with a one finger creamy light tan head, nice retention. Dry caramel and toasty toffee provides the backbone to an otherwise floral citrus (and some sweaty Cascade) hop nose, tinge of earth behind. Flavor adds some green dry hops, and the hops do seem a bit brighter than the aroma led on. Pretty well attenuated, just some mild sweetness from the caramel/toffee. Dry with bitterness peaking at a 3ish, thank you for not making it stupid bitter. Smooth moderate carbonation with a medium body. Quite solid, and better than I thought it’d be, as I’m not usually a fan of the hoppy toffee malt thing.

Bottle shared at a drinking session with Višnja 666 and Pilot Goran in the summer of 2017. Thanks! Clear amber to ruby red colour, small off-white head. Lightly hoppy, fruity and malty, caramel and roasty. Sweet, with only a light hoppy touch. Medium body, soft carbonation, light finish. Vell made strong ale.

Can split at GBBF '17, day 3, thanks to Steve 10/08/17. Rich chesnut brown to amber with a well presented off white head. Nose is caramel, hops, earthy malt, fruit rinds, brown sugar. Taste comprises light booze, orange rind, toasted brown sugar, sticky toffee pudding. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a sweet underbelly and hoppy balance. Decebt boost juice.

Can from Brewers Haven. Deep mahogany color, one finger fluffy beige head. Aroma us malts, dark, roasty, burnt toast. Taste us dry and dusty, leaves, tobacco, earthy. Malts at its very core. Not too strong for a strong ale, but damn tasty.

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2017 12oz can from De Bierkoning, enjoyed in a snifter on 18-Nov-2017. Reddish brown in colour with a medium sized beige coloured head. Aroma of pine, sweet malt and fruit. Medium body and carbonation. Malt forward in taste and heavily hopped - caramel, grapefruit and citrus. An awesome Red IPA.

Clear, ruddy cola pour, off white to tan head. Menacing 12oz can. Tannic, red ale aroma, with wood, cherry, incense. Chalky chocolate notes up front, cypress, fairly dry, a little astringent. I'd characterize this as an imperial red. Hops abound. Like all red ales, it's a bit of a mishmash and even in its better moments, I wish that it was something slightly different. Pretty good though. Thanks to PorterPounder for the trade.

Palm Beach Gardens, Total Wine - 12 oz can. Dark amber-brown pour, long lasting khaki colored head, light lacing. Aroma of brown sugar, dates and molasses. Flavor runs along the same lines, sweet and delicious, some nectarine fruitiness thrown in for good measure. Mouthfeel is thick and sticky. Yummy!

Rated on 9-26-2017. The appearance of this draft beer is a small head that is mostly lasting, dark reddish body, no carbonation observed, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is citrus hops, bitter, fruity, and malt. The flavor presents light-moderate bitterness, citrus hops, fruity, malt, and sweet. This beer is light bodied. It has a light bitter finish and very tasty. It is worth trying and a beer that I would drink again.
