COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gramarye is the practice of learning magic. For thousands of years, people have used a grimoire (book of magic) to cast spells and summon spirits. Of course, magic fell out of favor over the centuries, the same as brewing with rye. Interest in magic seems to be on the upswing these days, and so is the interest in brewing with rye. A coincidence? This is our take on session pale ale made with a dose of rye malt to give it that luscious feel and snappy finish. We think it is magical.

Bottle into IPA glass. Pours a clearish copper colour with fluffy off white head. Aroma is light citrus with a touch of rye spiciness. Taste is a little citrus and a little rye malt. Great body with the rye. Excellent beer.

patricks110 (2553) - Alberta, CANADA - MAY 3, 2015
Aroma is a bit flat but the rest is pure gravy. Pours a bright coppery gold wit a thick yellow hued white head. The aroma is fruity and citrus accented with light spicy and grassy notes, lemon peel and pine needle. Rye is subtle in the flavour but adds a beautiful crisp and spicy profile. Easy sipping but complex and full of flavour. Citrus, spicy green hops, pine needle. Moderate bitterness. Reserved, complex, subtle and overall a beauty brew.

650ml brown bottle. Golden, pretty clear. Small creamy white ring of foam. Nose has grapefruit and tropical hops. Taste has cat pee and tropcial hops with neutrtal malt character. Light bitterness. Body is light. Overall an ok brew, drinkable, but not that interesting.

boxofrane (2553) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 11, 2015
Draft at bistro on bridge. Pours clear amber with a medium sized off white head. The aroma is floral, piney, limited fruit. The taste has a crisp light bitterness, some citrus balance, and a touch of the eye spice.

3.4
UXO (1896) - CANADA - MAR 30, 2015
Pours clear pale amber with two fingers of loose light tan head, good retention and spotty lacing. (3/5) Nose is spicy rye, caramel malt, pine resin, citrus, pumpernickel. (7/10) Taste is moderate sweet, moderate bitter, mild spice. (7/10) Medium body tending to watery, moderate carbonation, building bitter finish. (3/5) That’s some pretty impressive chops for a session-ABV ale. Lots of aroma and flavour from the spicy rye makes this feel like a much bigger beer than its puny 4.4% ABV. It falls apart a little on the watery body, but all things considered, really quite pleasant. (14/20)

reebtogi (6350) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 29, 2015
650ml bottle pours a pale golden amber color with a finger of white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus with some caramel and light spicy notes. Taste is a light citrus and spicy bitterness with a caramel malty sweetness. Light bodied with nice carbonation that feels good on the palate. Overall, a nice easy to drink pale ale that is tasty and recommended.
