On tap at Harry’s Hoffbrau in Redwood City. Pours a dark brown with red highlights. Brown head. Sweet malt aroma delicately balanced by the sour. This beer is amazingly complex and well balanced, and is a very carbonated, spritzy beer. Lots of mellow cherry on the flavor and sweet cracker marrying well with the sourness.

This is my first time trying a dark sour and it is not a disappointment! Almost black in color this beer has a nose for the sour. A dark beer for sure but the aging of three years in cab barrels turns this dark beer into a great sour full of flavors from coffee to wine and in between! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at the brewery. Dark fruit and a hint of oak on the nose. Dark brown pour with a nice tan head. Big barrel character in the taste and nose. Sour, but a soft finish - a little plastic / bandaid on ththe finish (very subtle).

Fatehunter (2641) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - SEP 27, 2014
Pours a thin head on a dark brown body. The aroma is lots of fruit and the inside of a wine barrel. The taste is tart cherry with a little chocolate, yet wine-like throughout. The texture is soft with moderate carbonation. Interesting and not bad.

baraciisch (3444) - California, USA - JUN 10, 2014
Clear dark brown in color... Aroma of cherries, chocolate, Cabernet barrel, tartness, light hints of vinegar... Flavor is very subdued, chocolate is very prominent, light berries, tartness on palate... A beginner sour, decent ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Kamikaze. Black with a pretty, fine head. Nose of light vinegar, cream, vanilla, cherries. Rather faint. Sweet chocolate flavor, creamy, cherry, canilla, yogurt. Not all that sour, but well balanced and tasty.

jonnyguns (1108) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 26, 2013
