This porter is dark as midnight. This bold, rich, very dark ale has a rich dark toasted chocolate, coffee, and molasses character. It has the right balance of bitter chocolate and light sweet roasted malt taste. This has a dark ample head. I love this beer. Great job Heretic Brewing!

Huge amount of coffee scent with sweet milk chocolate then the roasted malts finish this my nose could live in brew. Smooth silk like black color with small tan head that does not last. Sweet chocolate starts off the complex flavor of this porter. Then followed by tons of bittersweat chocolate with a touch of roasted malts and then some hop bitterness that smooths into creaminess at the very end. Full cream like body with great carbonation for the style. The best porter I’ve ever drank to date. You guy make grew brews don’t ever stop. Awesome brew, will drink again. davidm (2080) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - FEB 21, 2013
Bottle from slowbeer. Nice porter, quite alcoholic. Aromas of amonia, chocolate, and caramel. Taste is sweet, with long length. Palate is velvety, fizzy, and medium bodied. Dark brown, with a disappearing head. StevieT (2013) - AUSTRALIA - JUN 4, 2013
Dark as night, hints of mocha, love it. Shame it’s quite expensive, I’d buy heaps of it mkel07 (5988) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - SEP 13, 2012
650ml bottle. Pours as black as a deep grave and carries a bubbling foam head. There are hints of vanilla, aniseed and licorice in the aroma. Full flavoured and thick and rich in the mouth with a nice long aftertaste. Probably the best porter I have had.

Excellent porter. The only thing wrong with this is that the head did not hold up very well but that may because the glass. I would like to see a competition between this brewer and a trappist ale. todd_aka_rhino (10) - Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 25, 2013
Dark in color with rich chocolate and caramel malt character with a touch of sweetness at the finish.

Good sized sample from The Fedora. Pours black with tan lacy foam. Aroma is chocolate, roast, some light smoke. Taste starts out lightly sweet and roasty before finishing dry and lightly bitter. Flavors of chocolate, light coffee and smoke, some light licorice notes. Mouthfeel is velvet. Really nice beer. Nate (4279) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 25, 2013
On tap at Abbot’s Cellar. Roasted toasted coffee, licorice, chocolate, and lactose. Really nice sweet and salty porter aromas. Dark black-brown opaque with lacing tan head. Medium-heavy body with medium carbonation and some warmness. Starts sweet and rich with chocolate, coffee, lactose, and molasses. Chocolate malted milk, sweet finish with nutty sweet bitter after. Nice porter.
