2010-01-05. Red tinged dark brown body with a modest frothy beige head. Aroma of dusty malt and tangy fruit. Flavour is similar, dusty malt character and a dry tangy fruit character. Average palate is effervescent. Okay. Bottle from the LCBO, Toronto

DuffMan (10596) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 18, 2007
Bought at the downtown Kingston LCBO on a brief visit before we head off to Mexico. Dark mahogany brown, clear, with a modest light brown head with poor retention. Huge berry-fruit aroma with bready undertones and a little sweet spice. Syrupy sweet fruit-cordial up front, but there is greater depth here in the form of dark bready malts and a very mild bitterness in the finish. Once again, this is a little too sweet to warrent a re-purchase, but having said that I enjoyed the whole 650ml bottle more than expected.

[3540-20110105] 341mL bottle. Grainy fruit aroma has notes of cabbage and lemon grass. Clear, dark red body with a long-lasting foamy light pink head. Blackcurrant tart fruity malt flavour has a long sweet aftertaste. Medium body. Interesting to try but is not in a style that I like. (5/3+/5/3/10) 2.6

Spab (4002) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 13, 2009
650 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a slightly brown dark ruby, with small, soapy pinkish-white head. Mild nose with tart fruit. Taste has tart berries and a certain breadiness. Somewhat thin-bodied. Not dreadful, but not particularly good.

cfrancis (3535) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 8, 2010
Pours a reddish brown with little or no head. Aroma is purple fruit and rye bread. Taste is a mixture of rye wheat and black currant. The tax seems muddled and confusing. A little disappointing.

GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 19, 2007
Bottle from an OCB media pack. 2007 version. Nice ruby colour with a good size pink head. Great balance of malt and sweet-tart fruit in the aroma. Medium bodied. Mild malt profile with a nice infusion of red currant. Sweet without being too sweet. Pretty nice stuff.
