Amberkleurig bier met kleine gebroken-witte schuimkraag. Aroma: geroosterde mout, caramel, gedroogd donker fruit. Smaak: zoet, bitterig met mout en toffeetoets. Mondgevoel is ruim met gemiddeld koolzuur en mild bitterige afdronk.

blackisle (2180) - IJburg, NETHERLANDS - NOV 28, 2015
Bottle 33cl. Cloudy medium amber, small frothy off-white head, settles quickly leaving yeast islets, good lacing; strong roasted malt aroma, caramel, dried dark fruit, honey, alcohol; taste is light heavy sweet and medium bitter, malty, light toffee, nutty and spice notes; medium to full body, oily texture, average carbonation, the rather thin aftertaste is mild sweetbitter, roasted malts and light spicy notes as well as alcohol in the finish; tasty brew, though not strong enough its more like a Barley Wine than a Dubbel, probably because of the prominent alcohol presence?

20/09/2015 @home - 33cl bottle from shop @ entrance of Achelse Kluis. Redbrown with large rocky irregular head. Typical dubbel aroma : dark malts, caramel, sweet. Taste is much better : dark matts, even light roast, caramel, only light sweetness at the back and light bitterness. Not bad in this style.
