This one is not bad for an alt. Pours a light copper clear and good off white head retention. Hoppy noble hop aroma , a bit grassy, and some light toasty malts and hints of caramel. Crisp clean hoppy flavor, solid malt backbone- and a nice crisp spicy and herbal hop finish. Definitely on the hoppy side even for an alt, but nice. The best of the four I tried in one night. Light malt and hop aroma. Mild, pleasant grain in the flavor with a a nice malt and hop balance. Medium body. Roasted grain finish. RagallachMC (631) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - APR 10, 2007
Draft at the brewpub. Aroma: Light biscuity maltiness with a touch of fruit (pear and grape). Some light citrusy and grassy hops. Appearance: Light copper in color and clear. Light khaki head was small and foamy with decent retention. Fair lacing. Flavor: Light maltiness with subtle toast and biscuit notes. Some light citrus and pear flavors. Herbal and grassy hops into the finish. Finishes dry and clean. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: Middle of the road. Drinkable. detroiter (958) - Euphoria, Minnesota, USA - JAN 27, 2007
Pours a clear and effervescent light copper color, topped by a good inch of bubbly, cream colored foam. Decent lacing. Lightly fruity malt and with a tangy hop presence in the aroma.
Nice crisp and clean dry toasted malt flavor, with a little fruit and a spicy tangy hop bite. The fruit disappears, but the malt and hops are plentiful all the way to the finish. Body on the light side of medium, carbonation is quite lively. muzzlehatch (4958) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 26, 2006
Draught pint at the brewpub, early October 2006. Medium maple color with a small head and a trace bit of lacing...faint, weak grassy-caramel aroma is pleasant but takes a lot of effort to get much from....lightly spicy body, caramel and a bit of woody-twiggy hops, lightly sticky mouthfeel, clean and very quaffable but never exciting, faint hints of baked fruit help out.

The colour reminded me of iced tea with a subtle addition of red. There was almost no head and mostly non-existent lacing. Small hints of citrus fruit with a good balance of malt and hops. Though, I didn’t find the hop flavour to be all that appealing. Pigfoot (2268) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - AUG 23, 2005
My second sampling (I’d say "pint", but that doesn’t apply) at my second visit to this not- too far-flung brewpub.
Clear, coppery appearance, slim head, soon gone.
Malty aroma, caramel-toned, herbal a bit, interesing, nonetheless...
Taste: crisp and credible, snappy and succinct, with a good hoppiness, well-matched by malt, while still dominant on the tongue. Fairly forward fruit, mostly apple and citrus, a vibrant flavor, but not too boisterous.
Medium bodied, quenching, taste just big enough, and, though my knowledge of alts is unfortunately limited, this seems a decent version.
Not bad, but I kept to my seat firmly, and felt no need to jump for joy, or any other reason...

Dark copper color with a thin head. A little malt in the aroma, but not much. Woody taste with a little smoke as well. A little malt, but very mild. Tasty enough, but I don’t think it’d be a great example of an Alt. robertsreality (2460) - Minnesota, USA - NOV 9, 2004
Alt’s Always Throw me off....I’ve Had a Few and They Rarely Taste Like the Last one I’ve Had... They DO Generally Seem to Be a Pretty Even Kilter Brew... This one Wasn’t Bursting With Flavor.. Perhaps a Pinch Woody.. With Some Malts...But Very Subtle....Almost Reminds me of Bitters...As They Are Very Subdued... But Alts Seem to Have a Few More Things Going On, Just Very Hard to Detract These Mysterious Flavors... Decent Brew
