Ale of the IMP is very impressive. Very very bitter. It is a bitter dream for fans of very bitter beers. This beer would fair very very well in a blind tasting. That being said, all you crazy hop heads out there run and get some of this beer. Buy at least two bottles. A note to the brewer. Fantastic job!! Could please make a hoppy hefe for me? Aroma is as good as it gets. MBFCompany (5) - , California, USA - DEC 29, 2010 does not count
This a a hop bomb - flat out. But strangely enough, it’s balanced with the sweetness of the Malt. I really enjoyed this beer. The hop flavor is an intense as I’ve ever tasted in a beer. It’s a concentrated Hop flavor that lingers far after you take a drink. Even the bottle retains that concentrated Hop smell long after the beer is gone. Should be called the King Hops- not the Imp Jester.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2010 500ml, $6. wow. this is a hoppy beast of a beer! pours a nice amber with a nice creamy off white head that has excellent grade A retention, lots of nice delicate lacing. the smell is fantastic, on par with some of the best i have had, and actually quite close to fresh pliny. there is obvious extract use in both taste and aroma, just like the elder. the taste is great as well. i was actually expecting something a bit more brash, but i have no problem with the lev els of bitterness in this one. there is a pretty strong malt background, and i think that this beer should be nice and hoppy and drinkable for a couple of months down the road. a very nice iipa, very unique and interesting, and an ambitious brew for such a young brewery. definitely worth a try. jlanning215 (363) - Peoria, Illinois, USA - MAR 20, 2011
Got this from Wavers1 in a free beer contest. Wow. This brew pours a beautiful gold with small bubbles and a nice head the sticks around. The aroma is absolutely incredible. Citrus and pine....awesome. Big punch of a brew with a ton of hoppy happiness. So tasty. It was big in body and nicely balanced. Hoppy and malty. A fantastic beer. I would be drinking Hermitage stuff as much as possible if I lived near them. What an awesome beer.!!! hopdog (13315) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 18, 2010
500ml bottle shared thanks to Josh! Poured a deep golden color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of floral hops, citrus, and piney. Hops and hops. Tastes of floral, citrus, pine, grapefruity, and just a ton of hops. High bitter finish. Did not disappoint a hophead like me!

500 ml bottle from BevMo Salinas. Nose is grapefruit, a little pine, and caramel mixed with a little sweetness. Lightly hazy amber with a medium, lightly lacing beige head. Flavor is very bitter with lots of pine and it finishes with a longlasting bitterness. Excellent! UnDecaf (106) - Mountain View, California, USA - AUG 26, 2012
Murky deep amber with a thick very white head. The nose is extremely hoppy but the first taste is more mellow with some sweetness to balance it. Long bitter finish. Wegro (332) - Fresno, California, USA - DEC 6, 2010
nice hoppy nose, gee this might be as hoppy as it claims. first sip: YES it definitely IS. wow. so much hops. this has to have 100 IBUs. great resiny hop flavor lingers forever. as hoppy as Hop Stoopid or Green Flash Imperial definitely. malt backing? some sweetness, i can detect. so very fresh and tasty, very over the top and crazy but also very delicious and satisfying. i want to see this get more ratings and see if others like it as much as i do, i wasn’t expecting much but this is a top DIPA for sure
