Scotch Ale, or a Wee Heavy. At 9% alcohol, this big, brown brew is surely to warm you under that kilt. Malty, and much more than a wee delicious.

22 oz from bevmo poured redish brown with a thin off whit ehead. big carmel and bread aroma. the flavor is what one would expect with a name like "maltopia" big bready malt, bits of carmel and burnt toffee. the finish is slightly acdic and thin as well as sticky. Although not completly undrinkable if you like over sweet things, not that great as a scotch and pretty much a DP for me right now

Poured into a tulip glass, dark amber color with a khaki head, with nice lacing. Malty with raisins, figs, dark cherries, caramel, toffee, chocolate. I will say that the ABV was well masked! Will recommend to my friends, really liked this scotch ale!

On tap at the brewery. Pours a softly hazed amber with a thin white head. Big floral malt, a touch of sweetness. Hints of fruit. Medium bodied, a bit thicker than that really, malt. Slow malt and long fruit. Malty and softly sweet into the finish.

Very nice scotch ale. Malty with balance, alcohol not noticeable. Nutty flavours dominate.

Maltopia wee heavy. 9% just purchased, nearly 2 year old bottle Cloudy copper- brown body topped by a semi-durable foamy head. Smells sweet, boozy, and a little off. Likewise for flavor which seems to confirm an assessment of at least. starting to go bad. Rated with a slight tolerance (boost) for age.

Bottle. Murky deep amber pour with a smaller head. Some peat, caramel, dark fruit. Mild alcohol burn. Not bad.

Ft Lauderdale, Fl. - Total Wines - 12 oz bottle. Deep, dark brown pour, quickly fading khaki colored head, Aroma has some peat, cherry, some nuttiness. Delectable flavor with some nice toffee accents, a hint of chocolate, some earthy peat notes in the back end. Thick, smooth mouthfeel. Will keep my eye out for this brewer when I head to San Jose next week.

Pours cloudy red color. Light cream colored head. Pretty decent lacing.

Aroma is wow. There’s a lot going on here. I smell raisins, figs, prunes. It’s sweet smelling. While the smell is very nice, it’s sweet, I don’t smell a lot of malt in this, although I think I’m supposed to.

Taste is sweet, and hoppy tart. It’s a little strange. I can taste the alcohol in it. The taste isn’t bad, but it’s not quite right. The nose and the taste don’t quite match up.

Mouthfeel is medium to full. While the taste is sweet, the finish is bitter. It’s not so drinkable.

Overall it’s okay. Yeah, it’s malty, but it’s way too sweet to really enjoy it. I don’t think I would try it again.

350ml bottle, pours dark brown with a small off white head. Aromas are mainly malts, caramel, toffee, roast, with apple and butterscotch, blackberry and redcurrant. Was shaping up to be good but the roastiness takes over the palate and ends with a long roasty, bitter finish, that is not quite working for me. Medium bodied, oily texture, medium sweet, heavy bitter finish.
