Can from a groupon mixed case of German beers. Pours brown with a head that disappears to a thin froth after a few minutes. Sweet and leaves a little bit of an aftertaste. Average at best.

I think both of the publiner’s are the same beer. Anyway this was a fairly standard bland irish red. Nothing noteworthy but very sessionable. tapthis (272) - Baytown, Texas, USA - DEC 23, 2016
Pours a dark amber with a nice head. Tastes of sweet malts with some notes of hay and fresh grass. Smells of sugar. PorterPounder (8090) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - DEC 15, 2016
Tallahassee, Fl - Costco - half litre can - can #23 and last (one was a dupe - imagine the nerve!) of the German Advent Calendar 24 pak. Dark copper pour, thick khaki colored head, nice lacing. Earthy flavor, some sweet toffee notes. bready, some cotton candy sweetness in the back end. Very unique flavor for an Irish Ale. Thick enough mouthfeel. rustbucket0873 (460) - Greenville, South Carolina, USA - DEC 15, 2016
pours amber/brown color with fluffy tan head that has excellent retention. The aroma is sweet malt, caramel, and some very little grass notes. the flavor caramel followed by some earthy, grass flavors. the body is medium with a nice overall palate not too much aftertaste. This is a fairly good flavored beer. overall i would recommend for an easy drinker and flavor

500ml can poured into an english pint glass. The beer is a clear copper color with a beige head of foam. Good head retention. It looks velvety even. The aroma has notes of dried nuts, fresh cut grass, and a moderate spice cake note. Sweet and nutty taste. A bit musty. Medium body and medium carbonation. Slick mouthfeel. Decent beer all around. Something you could drink a few of without getting too tired of it. bhensonb (15355) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 30, 2016
Can from an Egerer Advent pack from the Woodland CostCo. Pours dark copper with a beige head. Aroma is caramel with a hint of spicy hop. Near med body. Flavor is something like Smithwicks but with less bitter and more malt. But something like it. Certainly drinkable. Koskela (505) - Marysville, California, USA - MAR 3, 2016
Very grainy malty sweet aroma come
From this clear deep red brew with no head. I sense almost like a malt powder (for milkshakes) aroma as well. The taste is sweet and medium body however after you swallow it it becomes a light body. The hops flavor is minimal as is bitterness. It is a very smooth beer with low carb. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - DEC 4, 2015
Can from the beer advent calendar pack. Pours a very clear dark reddish brown color with a moderate off-white head that disappears quickly. Taste is just a tad earthy and ever-so-slightly bitter, with a subtle nuttiness at the end. Nose has a lot of grains to it. I can definitely see how this is an Irish ale, though I’m ironically amused to get an Irish ale from a German brewery. chinchill (5073) - South Carolina, USA - NOV 2, 2015
500 ml can of Herrnbräu Publiner Dunkles Exportbier with "Irish in the character" on the can. Production date of July 2015 and BB date of Sept. 2016 stamped on the bottom of the can.
Apparently, as the look and flavor indicate, this is a German made Irish Red Ale. In any case, it very malty and lightly sweet with hints of caramel, vanilla and faint spices. Lots of dark bread flavor.
