Bottle. Sweet banana, orange, clove and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy orange-brown color with large head. Sweet banana/toffee malt flavor initial followed by strong spiciness - clove, pepper, light nutmeg. Very spicy dunkelweizen but well balanced - no flavor dominates. Very nice. (bottle) Cloudy, dark amber to brown colour with a big and beige frothy head. Slightly yeasty, moderately sweet and toasty wheaty aroma with distinctive berry-fruity notes and lighter phenolic spices. Sweet flavour with a tinge of sourness, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Bottle (kindly delivered by joss!): Hazy, amber coloured, big fluffy beige head that rather quickly collapses; moderate toasty and fruity nose (dried black berries) moderate sweet-bitter, also slightly sourish flavour, medium bodied, quite soft MF; lingering fruity-sourish, but also toasty-malty finish. Good, well rounded and aromatic.........

bottle, bought in the Hallertau. Hazy brown colour, large and persistent beige head, quite fluffy. Fruity nose with ahint of chocolate. Full-bodied, malty with hints of caramel, liquorice and citrus fruit, shy hints of banana. Nice! DonMagi (5593) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 11, 2008
Bottle at ronnies, 5.6%. Aroma is Clove and more belgiun wit beer than german hefe. Taste is thin and wheaty an clove and i just dont dig hefe’s anymore. haddonsman (1234) - Derby, Derbyshire, ENGLAND - FEB 6, 2008
Bottled, Red Zebra, Derby. Another one of these rarely-seen -around-here German beers. A well-brewed-tea colour with a rocky head. Soft fruit and spice smeared across your nostrils, enough bite and tang, a pinching feel on the tongue. Impressive enough. Doppelganger (1388) - Dry County, Arkansas, USA - FEB 4, 2008
Bottle, Dodgy Deli, Oxford. Hazy copper, dense, persistent white head. Clove, kiwi, banana and orange peal, handled with a subtle touch, good fresh white bread yeasty warmth. Refreshingly sparkly citrus malt flavor accented with a little tartness. Citrus on the exhale and lingering spice. As Fin noted, nothing particularly wintery about this. But man is it good! Having never heard of this brewery before, and generally not getting all that worked up about hefeweizens, my expectations for this were pretty restrained. (Added to that the lousy 47th style percentage.) But I really dig this beer. I’m gonna go stock up on this one since I’ll probably never see it again. Bottle from the Dodgy Deli, Cowley Road, Oxford. Had this 05-01-08 white bubbly very large head wheat and banana on the nose and also found themselves to be quite high up on the flavour front. Not sure why this is called winter-weisse as there was nothing about it that would differentiate itself from any other wheat, still I rather liked it and it went down very well.
