4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is one extreme Barley Wine, and after a whole day of Barley Wine brewing this seamed like the natural end to it! It’s really heavy and full bodied and over the top, it just takes control over your whole mouth and lips, it’s really awesome. This is what I want when I drink a barley wine and I love the fact that it dares to be a bit different! Thumbs up!
500ml bottle - shared by Triinu - thanks!Marduk (7694) - Reval, ESTONIA - MAR 22, 2017
Dark brown, small beige head settles to a ring. Slightly sourish aroma, but mostly a dark toffee thing. Big burnt fruit, dates, more dates, figs and general yum in the taste. Oh yes, this I like. Palate full, leaves all the good aspects of the taste on the tongue. Anna fucking finished the glass. WTF?!? She doesn’t even have an account. I do have a bottle of this at home, I think it will leave it a while and then experience it super old. Marduk’s glass was way fuller, soy, almost tarry. Heavier, but still great.
UPDATED: MAR 23, 2017 500ml bottle (thanks Triinu). Clear deep chestnut color. Small size, yellow head, stays. Sweet, alcohol, fruity, raisins, plums in aroma. Sweet, roast, fruity, raisins, prunes in taste. Alcohol is present. Sweet and raisins if aftertaste. Soft carbonation. Pleasant mouthfeel. Nice full body. Very solid brew. Nice slightly bubbly mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet oxidized, caramel malts, dried dark fruits, sugar, grass, citrus, thinner, weeds, butterscotch. Taste is kind of medical harsh, dark sugar, harsh hops, citrus peel, weeds, medicine, grass, paper, dried dark fruits. Medium to longlasting bitterness, harsh mouthfeel. Fair enough.
Bottle shared with BBGTC @ X-mas tasting. Pours a brown body with a small bubbly tan head. Aroma is oxidized, sweet and malty.Vinous-port and sherry notes. Alcoholic as well. Taste is sweet, with loads of dark dried fruits. Raisines and dates. Fairly nice and has aged well. Some bitterness also. Full body, slick on the palate and very softly carbonated.

Rasmus40 (20712) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - SEP 28, 2013
Bottle from Vinspecialisten, Aalborg. Lots of dust one this one. Unclear very dark reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dried fruit, oxidized and alcohol. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish with lots of warming alcohol. Oily. This has aged nicely. 280913 jaghana (6070) - Strasbourg (Alsace), FRANCE - AUG 16, 2013
Bottle 50cl from Henrik thanks, a dark beer with low head. Nose is on malt, caramel, sweet grains and grapes. Aroma is intense on caramel and burnt caramel with lot of licorice and dry grapes, light soy sauce, prunes, chocolate, leather, salted like notes, red vine tannin. Would be really great with a light additional acid note such as berries, bit too "malty", but still enjoyable. hopscotch (11104) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 11, 2013
Bottle... Murky, dark brown pour with a tiny, wispy, lightly-tanned head. The aroma is a sticky batch of caramel interwoven with nicely oxidized notes of oloroso sherry, dried plum and fallen apple. Full-bodied and almost chewy with laid-back carbonation. The flavor is full of sweet, malty notes - caramel, burnt marshmallow - alongside vinous, fruity oxidation - sherry and dried plum - with remarkable bitterness to balance everything out, even after seven years in the bottle. Finishes sweet and tangy with an aftertaste of dried plum. Bottle courtesy of Plovmand! daje (4436) - NORWAY - MAR 3, 2013
Bottle, shared october 5th 2012. Dark brown body, small offwhite head. Aroma of dried fruit, wine, caramel, lightly hopped and some roast. Taste of alcohol, sugar diacetyl and sour yeast with a light roastiness. A clear off-taste. Finish of alcohol and fruit. None of us was very impressed by this one.
