500 ml bottle 2010, 8% ABV. Clear, dark amber body with a big, foamy off-white head that fades. Aroma is malty with spices, mainly anis and liquorices. Flavor is sweet and soft malty, spicy, a bit fruity, moderate bitter and with a sweet malty aftertaste. Quite OK, maybe just a bit on the sweeter side with some lack of bitterness.

Bottle (50cl) from Vinmonopolet, Oslo. Batch 376 (2010 edition), ABV 8%. Dark golden brown colour, slightly hazy. Offwhite head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of malt, dried fruits, coriander seed, aniseed, alcohol. Medium/full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Sweet, spicy malt taste, balanced by some fruity acidity. Long, alcoholic malt aftertaste with some bitterness. Very nice xmas brew.

Gr0ve (2177) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 23, 2010
500 ml bottle. 2010 edition. Bottle says 8.0% abv. Dark brown and seemingly clear. Tall fine-laced off-white head that clings to the glass. Sourish spicy aroma. Hints of Belgian yeast. Pepper, licorice, coriander, cinnamon and anise seed flavours. Warming alcohol. Soft carbonation level that balances the alcohol and spices nicely. Velvety texture. Balanced and quite enjoyable.

larsga (7508) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 18, 2010
Big medium beige head. Red body. Spicy herbal aniseed and cardamom aroma with herbal coriander notes. A bit too sharply spiced, perhaps. Dry-sweetish oily earthy coriander taste with fruity aniseed notes. Full-bodied. Mild, faintly hot mouthfeel. Dryish coriander and herbs aftertaste with roasty soy sauce notes. Not bad, but very, very spicy. (0.5l bottle, wine monopoly Vika, Oslo.)

BoBoChamp (5755) - Gent, BELGIUM - DEC 17, 2010
50cl, at 8%Vol, Danish brew anno 2010, with liquorice, thx to MadsNP!, complex brew, very spicy, yet balanced, hazy, good head, nice X-Mas brew

OleR (4804) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 26, 2010
0.5L bottle from Vinmonopolet. Low sand-colored head. Hazed, dark ruby colored body. Inviting Belgo-yeast on the nose, along with tones of English licorice and dried dark fruits. Also a scent of aniseed, fortunately not overdone. Spiced and light sweet malt flavor. Some burnt sugar, some light roast, and a hint of dried dark fruits. Bitterness for balancing. Medium full. Alcohol is well masked. Spiced malt finish. Not top end Belgian style dark strong, but solid and reliable.
