stobbe74 (3789) - DENMARK - JAN 23, 2010
Sampled at DØE Beerfestival 2009, Esbjerg. Pours an amber beer with almost no head. The aroma is sweet. The flavor is sweet, caramel and staranis. The palate is sweet. Overall a good beer above average.

Blom (848) - Sorø, DENMARK - DEC 22, 2009
Hazy brown with a low head. Malty, very malty, but also with lots of rest sugar and some nice spices. The caramel malt dominates, but I can also detect some anis and other spices. A bit cloying, though - I could not have drunk a full bottle myself.

Bottle at home ... thanks to Jan (once again) ... dark clowdy brown .... spiced dark malt nose ... dark malts ... some dark fruit ... again some spice.

06-NOV-2009, bottle @home. Brown/red slightly hazy with nice high light brown head. Malty nose with some yeast and spice. Lots of malts in the flavor. Very belgian style - Trappist inspiration is clear, but also some barley wine character. I have heard Tore from the brewery call it close to a barley wine, and now that I have not got their barley wine (Mjølner) to compare it with, I can sense it. It is actually barley wine like. But then the x-mas spices steps in. This is my third x-mas brew tonight, and by far the best. And always one of my favorite seasonal brews.

At the Ølfestival, Esbjerg, Denmark 22-10-09. Pours dark amber, sticky sweet loads of toffee, chewy, sweet, malty but not spicy or yeasty enough to be a Belgian for me, but hey its ok A7 A5 F7 P4 Ov14 2.8

Dedollewaitor (16315) - Odense, DENMARK - OCT 26, 2009
Bottle @ Aakjærs, Esbjerg. Pours dark unclear brown with a small creamy white head. Spicy and chewy malty. Caramel, berries and anis. Full bodied. Very well balanced and overall great christmas brew!

mirjukka (752) - LOHJA, FINLAND - APR 17, 2009
Sterne Bryg 2008 bottle 500ml from Systembolaget Stockholm shared with FatPhil &Anna reddish brown small white head. Kick of hops then sweet malty barley wine like sweet fudge spices . Alcohol comes through sticky mouthfeel . Might be pleasant starter of the heavy Christmas dinner.

FatPhil (16896) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - APR 17, 2009
500ml bottle (Systembolaget, Stockholm) - shared with Mirjukka - thanks!
Rich deep ruby, no head. Pleasantly sweet hoppy and nutty aroma. Sticky slimy palate - way too sweet. Low carbonation. Soapy taste, and exceptionally sweet. Not really a beer I want to drink currently, just too sickly sweet, and with unbalanced metallic and soapy bitterness.

pilsnerrogge (2984) - Finspång, SWEDEN - MAR 22, 2009
Bottled, label said 8 % ABV
Pours deep brownish red with a mid sized head. Fruity currant and anise aroma. Smooth and rounded mouth feel. Flavour is sweet and has notes of anise and red currants.

oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - MAR 2, 2009
