UPDATED: DEC 25, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with thick brown head. Fantastic christmas aroma of chocolate, fruits, anise, coriander and alcohol - some yeast as well. Taste adds malt notes to the aroma flavours. Finish is long and sweet. Lovely balanced and goes great to almost any food. Fantastic Christmas brew. An unclear dark brown beer with an OK light brown head. The aroma contains notes of oranges, lemon, caramel, and alcohol, while the flavor is very sweet with strong notes of caramel and nuts, but also fruits - I pick up oranges. Nice with the extra power. joergen (28142) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 30, 2005

Bottle (8.0% ABV, thanks omhper!) Deep murky reddish brown colour with mediumsized brown head that leaves slight lace. Aroma is caramel malts, slight roasted notes as well as chocolate and strong licorice. Flavour is bigtime licorice meeting caramel malts, some spices and mild hints of chocolate. A pleasantly balanced beer which would fit a Christmas table very well. 7 4 8 4 16 (Rated March 2009).
BF 2013 (as Herslev Økologisk Stjerne Bryg). Hazy amber colour, not much head. Aroma is star anise, fruits, some caramel and wood. Flavour is star anise, spices, some fruits as well as caramel and mild herbal notes. 7 4 7 3 14.
Bottled. Cloudy mahogany colour, no head. Almondy and sugary sweet. Full bodied with caramel covered in thick layers of marzipan. Low bitterness. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 11, 2005
(On tap) Less star aniseed and a shipload of extra malt drives the alcohol way up in this new version of Herslevs Christmas offering. Unclear brown with an orangey glow and an off-white head. Sweetish, fruity aroma. Very potent body, sweetish vinous with distinct notes of oranges. Very marked and warming alcohol. Incredibly full-bodied but perhaps a tad too heavily alcoholic. 281005 madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUL 3, 2010
