COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottled. Thanks to thewolf. Aroma has roasted, caramel malts and a lot of fruits. Hazy, brown coloured with an off-white head. Taste is sweet, caramel malty and very fruity (plums, raisin). Really nice.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet. Dark, near-murky brown body with a thick, creamy off-white head. Nose is original and somewhat strange: sweet licorice, dark chocolate, molasses, roasted malts, hints of raisins, black currants and nougat. Its kinda like mixing a fruity imp stout with a Belgian strong ale. The taste is more in the vicinity of Belgium, with some spiciness I cant quite put my finger on; perhaps a bit of cardamom, clove or cinnamon. Or maybe anis. It could very well be anis. Something Xmasy, at least. A pretty nice holiday brew from Herslev.

Draught at Lord Nelson, Copenhagen. Dark brown colour with a decent khaki head. Sharp berry aroma. Flavours combine chocolate and berries with a hint of smokiness and some spices towards the finish. Medium to full body. A complex Christmas brew.

0.5L bottle from Vinmonopolet. Low sand-colored head. Hazed, dark ruby colored body. Inviting Belgo-yeast on the nose, along with tones of English licorice and dried dark fruits. Also a scent of aniseed, fortunately not overdone. Spiced and light sweet malt flavor. Some burnt sugar, some light roast, and a hint of dried dark fruits. Bitterness for balancing. Medium full. Alcohol is well masked. Spiced malt finish. Not top end Belgian style dark strong, but solid and reliable.
