UPDATED: DEC 25, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with thick brown head. Fantastic christmas aroma of chocolate, fruits, anise, coriander and alcohol - some yeast as well. Taste adds malt notes to the aroma flavours. Finish is long and sweet. Lovely balanced and goes great to almost any food. Fantastic Christmas brew. rane (1071) - Nibe, DENMARK - DEC 19, 2012

This is still the best danish cristmasbeer. Loads of anis in aroma and flavor. I truly love this beer, and I will hunt it down next year. Hopefully my local beershop Højer Vin will get more of this great stuff. pyx (16) - København V, DENMARK - OCT 29, 2005
New version of Herslevs Christmas brew - this time much stronger! Dark brown-red, with a thick head. Sweet aroma with notes of licorice. Full-bodied sweet taste of raisins and star anise - but not to much. Very creamy and well balanced beer. Much better than last year. FrankJohansen (3622) - Sabro, DENMARK - OCT 30, 2005

(Draft at Fynske Øldage) Chestnut color and a beige creamy head. Fresh aroma where the star anise is present. Although this holds a lot of alcohol the overall impression is light and elegant. Very nice christmasbeer. Less spicy than last year’s. jonsiii (165) - Fredericia, DENMARK - DEC 23, 2005
Bottle 50 cl @ 14C in tulip glass. Redbrown colour, nice head. Malty aroma and light hop notes. Lots of spices (coriander and anis). Sweet flavour of a belgian style christmas beer. Soft carbonation. Not bad at all.. dornoy (701) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 29, 2005
This is the nicest beer I have ever tasted from Herslev. The taste is full, and it fully deservs its name "starbrew". Really a plasure to drink ! Full head on a red-brown body, it has spices ans an enchanty sweet flavour. bager (2120) - Copenhagen N, DENMARK - DEC 31, 2005
Bottle. Wow truely a star. Reddish, greyish and darkish. Lots of nice sweet tastes. One of the best xmas berrs this year. Skinnyviking (9640) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 25, 2006
Bottle. What I wrote about looks, aroma and flavor for the 2004 version also goes for this. Still I think 2005 is slightly better because it feels smore smooth and not quite as agressive as the 2004 version.
