Clear dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, dark malt, caramel, star anis, sweet malt, wood, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, dark malt, wood, alcohol, sweet malt, star anis, candy sugar. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20170930]

Bottle Hillerød Øldage. High creamy lasting light brown head. Pitch black body. Smooth and pleasant roasted malt coffee liquorice aroma. Flavor dominated by liquorice but coffee caramel wood and vanilla is also spotted. Fair amount of hops bitterness although the general impression is a relatively sweet beer. Low carbonation, long finish. Alcohol nicely hidden.
