GoufCustom (2170) - HONG KONG - MAR 9, 2016

330ml bottle bought at Craftissmo in Tsim Sha Tsui East.

Looks: Cloudy hazy golden apricot colour with a ring of dirt-like yeast sediments; Two finger head and crumpety white foam which lasts for 3 minutes; Excellent sticky lacing with slight carbonation.

Aroma: Fragrant and sweet malt, with vanilla, lemon peels, moderate plums, light cinnamon, sugar, light earth, strong Bel yeast and very light grass.

Taste: Close to medium sweet Pilsener malt, with grapefruit peels, yellow fruits, light floral, molasses, strong spices, resins, strong yeast, strong lime, strong bitter hops and strong grass.

Body: Medium body. Slick and creamy palate.

Mouth Feel: Pretty rich maltyness in a thick and smoothie background. Hops-driven with strong citrus peels, ooze, strong spices and earth. Very bitter kicks which balance the sweetness perfectly. Limey ending. Very nice!

Hoppiness: All Fuggles and Hellertau - lemon peels, light cinnamon, and earth in nose. Grapefruit peels, yellow fruits, light floral, strong spices, resins, strong lime and sharp grass in taste; Bitterness is strong for a lasting, high astringent bitter sweet finish.

After Taste: Fairly dry. Creamy and very hoppy bitter to mouth.

Comments: This is a Belgian Pale Ale with strong English and German hops characters - limey, resiny, spicy and bitter, mixed with smooth rich maltyness and good looks. It really spunky and kick ass. Love it!

Aroma - caramel , Belgian yeast, alcohol, fig, and spice. Appearance - the body is a hazy goldenrod yellow, with great nucleation. The head is off-white and well over 2+" foamy, and takes a long time to settle. Taste - slight caramel, touch of pungent hops, coriander, Belgian yeast, touch of fig, and some oak. Palate - medium body, slight oil, average carbonation, and a slight bitter and slight booze finish.

Has a nice hazy blond colour. Aroma is quite strong with bready yeast. Flavour is bitter and tangy. Just a hint of citrus peel in the finish next to a hop bitter aftertaste.

GSAP (757) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 25, 2015
Rottende bloemen als aroma, met wat hooi en snuifje citrus. Smaak is wat minder fris dan verwacht, ook iets licht rottends, met wat bitterzoet. Beetje smooth maar algeheel wat gemiddeld.

Tap at Beer Circus. Sweet, bitter, some lemon, meh. Nest just doesn’t do it for me, all their beers are mediocre at most.

When I first opened the glass bottle it was rather stinky. Like sulfur. But after I let it breathe a bit and poured it into a glass the aroma actually blossomed and was quite nice. Very fruity, much like a breakfast cereal. Had it stayed the way it originally smelled I’d of rated the aroma only a 1. In the end, it gets a 9. What a transition!!!!!! Cloudy orange/yellow pour with a fluffy white head. Head lasts a bit, ample lacing on the glass. This in no way tastes like it smells. Dry, bitter, and flat. Finish is quick and slightly bitter. This is a very complex and highly unusual beer! One of the most unique I’ve ever had. I can’t guarantee you’ll like it, but I implore you to at least try it!

Notes of citrus aroma mixed with sweets. Head dissolves quickly. Citrus flavour, rather bland.
