COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Corked & caged stoneware jar 50cl. from a local AH supermarket, @home poured into a chalice. Clear deep ruby brown, small frothy beige head, mostly diminishing; aroma roasted malts, caramel, dark fruits, candy sugar, licorice, molasses, spicy notes; taste light heavy sweet and slightly bitter, malty, fruity, caramel, spicy notes, some alcohol; lingering sweetbitter aftertaste, bit vinous, sugary; full-bodied, oily to sticky texture, average carbonation; alcohol well-hidden, not too sweet for the style, good dubbel.

Average frothy light brown head. Fair lacing. Mostly diminishing. Flat dark-brown body. Aroma: moderate malt, dark chocolate, prune, ruby port. Initial flavor: moderate sweet. Final flavor: light acidic and bitter; long duration. Palate: light medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic finish. toque metálico no paladar bem acima do desejado para o estilo, dulçor também lembra ameixa-seca, leve acidez remete a ameixa fresca, equilíbrio pendendo para o malte, leve amargor lupulado aliado a leve acidez equilibram muito bem a cerveja. 140 s

Brunatnej barwy, mętne. Piana trwała, zdobi szkło. W aromacie ciemne suszone owoce, trochę karmelu. Wszystko trochę mało intensywne. W smaku podobnie jak w aromacie, alkohol delikatnie wyczuwalny. Bardzo przeciętny Dubbel.

Very decent, very dark beer. Head disappears almost immediately, but this is a non issue. Sweet, fruity yet complex and malty. Sipped on a cosy autumn evening out of a Westmalle chalice (no Hertog Jan glassware available unfortunately). Excellent ceramic bottle too, will be keeping that to house a dribbly candle. Ordered from Beerhawk.
