Strong dark ruby beer with a quickly disapearing head. A slight sweet creamy taste. Very nice packaging. This is how a beer should taste. hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 13, 2005
Very dark red-brown colour with huge beige head. A little bit of sediment. Fruity aroma with a little yeast. Plummy, fig taste with some alcohol, a hint of sourness and a final touch of bitterness. Thanks to Morrison’s for stocking this great beer in its excellent retro bottle. Panzerfaust (849) - Hanga Roa, Easter Island, CHILE - DEC 1, 2011
Big 50 cl ceramic bottle, 7.3% alcohol.
Pours a reddish brown that turns to ruby red against strong light. Head is rather big and off-white, diminishing slowly.
Aroma is fantastic and enticing. Strong malty and fruity aroma with a liquorish touch. Notes of walnuts, ripe cherries, cognac, nougat and brown sugar.
Flavor is sweet and beautiful, nutty with a warming alcoholic note. Some spices come through in the finish leaving a fine aftertaste.
Medium to big body, low carbonation. The alcohol is well integrated into the mix although some may think it is a little excessive.
A wonderful, rounded dutch Dubbel. It holds its own against monstrous Dubbels like Westmalle or Chimay Rouge. Christos (5785) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - NOV 18, 2012
500 ml ceramic bottle, black painted, with a cork on top. At home, poured into a chalice.
Small head, something more than one finger, off-white in colour, with average retention. Second pour was into a tulip, not any difference. Colour is deep ruby, almost brown. Lots of tiny bubbles rising to the top.
Aroma of light caramel, red sweet wine.
Tastes more like wine too, the alcohol very nicely conceiled. Mostly sweet, with a short acidic finish. A subtle cinnamon note on the finish as well.
Full body and as much carbonation as needed.
A very tasteful dubbel.

Not a bad dubbel at all. Plum and other dark fruits in the flavor. A medium to thick mouthfeel with some alcohol at the end of the taste. Some brown sugar and earth as well. MarcelB1979 (8) - Caxias do Sul, BRAZIL - FEB 22, 2016 does not count
Strong taste of caramel and matured fruits, with aroma of matured red fruits and chocolate(?).

50cl stone crock from Morrisons. Dark ruby coloured beer with thick lasting tight beige head. Dark roasted malts, dark skinned fruits with chocolate, damsons and black cherry. Superb beer, lovely dark flavours. Slightly vinuous in mouth. Finish has some dryness. Bit one dimensional, but what a dimension. hansvf (898) - - MAR 18, 2014
