Bottle. Dark brown color, medium rocky head. Aroma of licorice and roast from the base beer, together with raisin and cherry pits and oak wood from the cognac. Blending quite nicely in aroma. Thick bodied, good complexity. Bit sugary sweetness in taste, but balanced by dry oak wood and thick velvety cognac, some alcohol. Not super elegant, but quite robust. Cognac works pretty good, not too much on the raisin, and works good with the licoricy base beer. Lovely beer.

Voor mij de minste van de 4, zurige bittere smaak. Cognac overheerst te veel wat mij betreft ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Amber coloured ale wij a small cream coloured head. Aroma: wood, vanilla, some smokiness and some sweet malts. Taste: alcoholic, caramel, oak and some vanilla. Body is thin and weirdly enough it ends watery.

Geur minder dan de port. Smaak wat alcoholisch. Aardig maar duidelijk minder dan de port.

Sample from bottle. Poured a dark Ruby colour with a light head. Nose of sweet malts, raisins, sweetness of cognac, oak, light cacao, prunes, cognac spirit. Expected more

Aroma:
Heavy aroma of malts, caramel, wood, Belgian yeast, apples and roasted malts.

Appearance:
Turbid/opaque ruby/black beer with a slight beige head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts heavy sweet with malts, caramel, wood, Belgian yeast and apples; ends slightly dry with roasted malts.

Overall:
This beer is intense and balanced, but lacks complexity. Smells and tastes like fucking apple juice, I have no idea how or why. Damn nice, but really weird at the same time.

Inoven (1041) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - APR 27, 2017
Flesje gedeeld tijdens proeverijtje. Roodbruin helder bier met weinig schuim. In het aroma komt de Cognac duidelijk naar voren. Ook in de smaak is vol, zoet en houtachtige / zoethout.

Benzai (16917) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - APR 27, 2017
Bottle @ home shared by TomHendriksen. Clear red-brown color, small off-white to beige head. Aroma is malts, cognac indeed, wood. Taste malts, cognac, lightly wood, slight distant tart hints, light tannine. Some sweetness. Decent to medium body and carbonation. Decent.

UPDATED: JUN 27, 2017 Fles gedeeld met Roelzie1986, Inoven, Benzai en Dutchdrebus. Het is een lekkere variant van de grand prestige. Een beetje een scherpe geur.

Bottle @ benzai. Brown colour with no real head. Smells sweet, almond, nutty. Tastes malty, sweet, almond, roasty. Actually quite nice but not €19.50 nice I think. Full body, soft carbo.
