COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Dark black in appearance with almost no carbonation. Strong alcohol taste that overwhelms everything else for me. Probably good for its style but hard for me to judge.

Bottle shared with McTapps. A good one. Mixed aromas of chocolate and fruits with a nice, deep colour. Quality beer for sure.

Dark brown clear beer with minimal tan head. Aroma mostly of caramel from malts and apple esthers from yeast. Very sweet and not quite sticky enough though not bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Albert Heijn XL in the Netherlands, shared with MichaelBruch. Dark brown-red in colour with low head. Nose of dark cherry, chocolate and yeast. Taste of sweet cherry, bittersweet chocolate, light yeast, warm hay and chewing gum. Very dry finish. Not easy, but delicious to drink.

Smells yeasty with some coriander and black current. Pours cloudy dark brown with good head and lacing. Tastes a lot like the La Trappe Dubbel I just had, actually. Pretty similar in taste, smell and overall feel. Soft carbonation even though the cork literally fired off the bottle after I unscrewed the metal cap. A little sour on aftertaste. Aroma has some booze and oak as well. Good find for a Panamanian Super Market.

Nice, strong heady aroma greets you. Flavors of toffee and caramel, with a little alcohol burn. Slight sourness mars this otherwise nice Dutch ale.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2015 Dark amber, somewhat ruby red colour with a fading bit tan head. On the nose aromas of ripe banana, plumb and caramel, some earthy notes develop. Nice ripe fruit flavours, with light fizzyness and an oily texture, chewy, full bodied beer. Medium to heavy sweetness. Finish is long and balanced.

MADpalace (219) - Budel, NETHERLANDS - OCT 30, 2012
UPDATED: JAN 9, 2015 Tasting various beers with friends. Summary for this bottle: Clear dark ruby red color. Spicy/sweet smell. Good taste. Update: Nice dark ruby-red color with red-brownish head. Strong caramel smell. Strong flavor with warm sweet after-taste. I personally like a more watery beer instead of the stronger beers with much alcohol.
