COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2015 Dark amber, somewhat ruby red colour with a fading bit tan head. On the nose aromas of ripe banana, plumb and caramel, some earthy notes develop. Nice ripe fruit flavours, with light fizzyness and an oily texture, chewy, full bodied beer. Medium to heavy sweetness. Finish is long and balanced.

30cl bottle at home from local supermarket, Maarssen. Nose is dried fruits, alcohol. Body is dark brown, head is medium, beige, frothy, average lasting, excellent lacing. Aroma is raisin, milk chocolate, caramel, dried fruits, herbs, light liquor, dark berries, sugar. Medium to heavy sweet, medium bitter, light fruity sour. Finish is medium lasting fruity roasty medium bittersweet, medium alcohol warmth. Medium to full body, slightly sticky oily texture, soft carbonation. Bit heavy dessert beer, too much alcohol flavor for 10% ABV and feels like lots of added sugar, but not bad.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

More of a liquor than a beer, really. Very fruity & spicy. Do not drink this as a refresher after mowing the lawn. Handle with care & deference.

Bottle, historic scored rating, my wife got me a selection pack of Hertog Jan beers when she went to Netherlands. This was by far the best in the pack.
