Typical Dutch oud bruin, not to be confused with the totally different Flemish oud bruin style; close to the equally mass-produced Dommelsch Oud Bruin in terms of appearance, aroma and taste, but a bit less sweet and a bit more metallic. Serves its purpose as a daily low alcoholic, I guess. blackisle (2586) - Amsterdam IJburg, NETHERLANDS - NOV 30, 2013
Deep red brown, thin frothy tan head; sweet malty nose, roasted, brown sugar, syrupy, bread; very sweet, sugar; thin texture, watery mouthfeel, light body; sweet roasted finish Countbeer (6592) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - JAN 18, 2012
And here’s another Dutch sweet beer, rather go for the Flamish Oud Bruin.
A medium off white to light tan head on top of a ruby brown colored beer.
Smell sweets, some malts and darker fruits.
Taste is also sweet, brown sugars, sweet darker fruits and sweet malts.
All these Dutch Oud Bruins’ seem to taste so much like eachother, not interesting and just too sweet. Quinten (1062) - zaandam, NETHERLANDS - MAR 5, 2009
Dark brown, thin head, very sweet one with hinds of cola and candy, almost no spices and no beer hinds. had better oud bruin. altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - FEB 19, 2009
Ruby body with smallish head. Sweet nose. Sweet flavour, more than usual perhaps due to low ABV. Light. Not my thing.

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2006 This was something totally new for me. Sort of a low alcohol porter or bock. Not too bad, but very sweet. Actually quite similar to finnish "kotikalja", could be translated as homebrew. I would have this with a meat soup when you still need to drive. JanPrimus1982 (48) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - DEC 14, 2005
Oh my god, really not a great beer, tasted it once and never again! Have thrown away. Much too sweet. In one word: disgusting! vanvenlo (1885) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - AUG 28, 2005
28 May 2005 - Big malt aroma and damn sweet. Clear brown-red colour poor head and lacing. Lots of caramel and too sweet given that it lacks some complexity. Sweet lingering malt finish, but too sweet. dortmunder (961) - Herdecke, GERMANY - JUL 22, 2005
Bottled. Dark ruby red colour. Small off-white head. Roastmalty, caramelly aroma, somewhat porter-like. Caramalty, sweet taste. Rather lightbodied. A typical oud bruin, but with a nice aroma. Lunkie (1936) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - JUL 3, 2005
Sweet hop malt aroma. Dark red brown colour with poor head. Sweet malt lolly flavour. Fizzy palate.
